The Tests

Edited: I know you need to wait about a week more to have a test, but for the sake of this, it has been changed. But everything following pregnancy still applies, and with this alteration, it can possibly make it a longer process for Joshua.

Jeonghan chuckled softly as he watched Joshua eat with a bright smile, his dimples prominent as Jeonghan set his phone onto the table. His hair was still messy, but it never bothered him or Jeonghan. What made it more precious and amusing was the pleasant hum coming from the happy male.

"How are you feeling, Joshuji?" Jeonghan asked as the other shifted his shimmering, doe-like eyes towards Jeonghan.

"Fantastic, honestly," Joshua said with a cheerful voice. Jeonghan smiled, gently wiping Joshua's mouth. "How about you, Hannie?"

"Spectacular," Jeonghan responded as he finished his breakfast. Taking his plate, Jeonghan walked over and placed it into the sink before gently brushing his fingers through Joshua's hair, cooing softly as Joshua emitted a soft, content sound akin to a purr.

"After you're done, wait in the bedroom for a while before taking the test. We don't want all of the nutrients and liquids to affect the test," Jeonghan reminded, moving his hands to rest on Joshua's shoulders before placing a kiss on his cheek.

"I will. I'll get the tests ready while I'm waiting," Joshua said.

"How many did you get?" Jeonghan asked, recalling that they had made a stop at the store before coming to the rented house. While there, Joshua had bought the pregnancy test after confirming it with Moon that it still worked like any other pregnancy. But Jeonghan never saw how many his partner got.

"Ummm... Three," Joshua answered hesitantly. But Jeonghan lifted an eyebrow, peering at Joshua.

"Are you sure it was just three?" Joshua paused, fiddling with his fingers.

"Okay, maybe I bought one more,"

"Jisoo."

Joshua sighed, pouting towards Jeonghan. "Aish... Okay... maybe I bought six of them,"

Jeonghan chuckled with amusement, hugging Joshua from behind as the other nuzzled his nose to his cheek. "It's good to be thorough, yeah?"

"You're not going to tease me, are you?" Joshua asked.

"Of course not," Jeonghan said, but then smirked. "Although, I think you've should've bought two more,"

"Jerk! You're such a liar!" Joshua snorted, puffing his cheeks as he got up to leave the room. But Jeonghan wrapped his arms around his partner's waist, causing the other to let out a soft growl of refusal before Jeonghan turned him around and held him close. Joshua gently pushed on Jeonghan, whining a small, "Let go, you maniac!" But he gave in to the inevitable, wrapping his arms around his neck, his cheeks still puffed furiously.

"Ayee, come on, Jisoo~" Jeonghan cooed.

"Shut up," Joshua grumbled, nuzzling his head into the crook of Jeonghan's neck, receiving a kiss. "Can I go to the room now?"

"I'm hurt," Jeonghan sighed playfully, receiving a pinch, letting out a small yelp. "Ah! okay, okay," Chuckling softly, despite the small sting at the back of his neck, he let go of Joshua who made his way to the bedroom.

"And don't you dare take the test while I'm doing the dishes!"

"Ne~" Joshua called back.

"Okay, give me a minute!" Joshua said, grabbing one of the test as Jeonghan sat on the edge of the bed. He watched fondly as his partner rolled his sleeves and went into the bathroom, shutting it closed behind him. Jeonghan waited patiently, deciding to stand up with his arms crossed.

He waited, and eventually, Joshua peeked out of the bathroom with a nervous smile.

One.

One line.

Don't panic.

Jeonghan stood beside Joshua, an arm wrapped around his back as they peered at the test.

"Do you think I took it too soon?..." Joshua questioned softly. Jeonghan didn't respond automatically, but he nodded to himself.

"Let's wait a little bit longer, then try taking another, okay?"

So, they waited. And again, as time passes, Joshua took another test, the second test.

Two.

One line.

I'm getting anxious.

"Hannie..." Joshua said softly, hugging Jeonghan tightly as they put the second test next to the first. Jeonghan insisted that they compare, looking out for a second line that was faint. But there was nothing but one line.

"I know. But we've still got four, and sometimes they aren't accurate," Maybe it was true, or perhaps, Jeonghan was lying to himself as Joshua rested his head on his shoulder.

But both weren't giving up.

Three.

No change.

Did we do something wrong?

Joshua sat on the bed, feeling small as Jeonghan stared intently on the three tests. But nothing. There was nothing.

"I think we need to call Moon," Jeonghan said, shifting his conflicted gaze towards Joshua. But Joshua didn't look back, his head down as he fiddled with his sweater. "Joshuji?..."

"I don't want to call her yet," Joshua said, looking towards Jeonghan with a solemn smile. "Let's try another one, yeah?"

"Are you sure?" Jeonghan frowned as he walked over to his partner. But Joshua gave a nod, holding Jeonghan's hands.

"Yeah... Can you get me one?" Joshua pointed towards the bag with three remaining.

Four.

God, please.

This is agonizing.

Joshua clung to Jeonghan, his legs wrapped around his waist and his arms around his neck as Jeonghan carried him out of the bathroom.

"I can't believe this..." Jeonghan said.

"Maybe I can..." Joshua responded with defeat.

"Jisoo..." Jeonghan paused, looking at his partner in his arms.

"I'm sorry... I know I shouldn't get this way but, I-... I guess I already expected this from the start,"

Jeonghan sat on the bed, letting Joshua sit on his lap still clinging to him. He ran his slender fingers through Joshua's hair, spreading kisses all over his face. It didn't gain much of a reaction but a weak smile.

"We've never given up on anything, yeah? Let's not start that now," Jeonghan gently caressed Joshua's face, the other leaning into his touch. "If this doesn't work, we can still keep trying or go for other options,"

"I-...I know," Joshua held Jeonghan's hand, keeping it on his cheek. "I just wished so badly that this would work. I really did, Jeonghan,"

"Me too,"

Jeonghan had a bag, placing snacks and bottles of water into it while Joshua was getting ready.

Unfortunately, they stopped going through the tests bitterly, but still comforted each other. More so Jeonghan comforted his depressed partner, but Joshua accepted it. Yet, Jeonghan knew he wasn't going to be alright. So, he decided they'd go for a hike. They'd go out somewhere beautiful and quiet, explore, and have time to let it sink in. Just them, and no one else.

"Curses..." Jeonghan grumbled, wincing as he held his head, his head beginning to throb which always meant that he was secretly defying the system. He could see the data during these situations, and he was always tempted to break it with anything: a chair, a couch, maybe even flip the table and run into it, crashing his entire body into it until it broke. But he wasn't going to do that again. Not right now. Not yet.

Five.

Oh my god.

"JEONGHAN!"

Jeonghan froze when he heard Joshua's sudden yell, his voice shaky and urgent. Dropping the water in his hand, Jeonghan rushed into the bedroom, looking around before he noticed the bathroom door opened and the sound of soft sobs. Wide-eyed, Jeonghan went into the bathroom, holding onto the doorframe as he found Joshua sitting on the floor, curled forward.

"Jisoo, what's wrong?!" Jeonghan asked, moving forward and going onto his knees. But Joshua turned to him, tears running down his face, lips quivering before he lunged forward, hugging Jeonghan tightly as he trembled. "J-Jisoo?!"

"H-Hannie, I'm sorry for scaring you b-but," Joshua choked on his tears, separating from Jeonghan as he held it up.

Two lines.

"I-I'll be eating for two, Jeonghan," Jeonghan's eyes began to gloss as Joshua laughed. "W-We did it, Jeonghan! W-We-" Joshua let out fits of laughter as Jeonghan let out a happy yell, scooping up Joshua into his arms, holding him in a bridal position and spun him around in the bedroom. Joshua smiled brightly, the corners of his eyes crinkled as he pressed his forehead with Jeonghan's.

"This is incredible! We actually did it, Jisoo! We'll finally have a family," Jeonghan grinned brightly, his smile big and angelic as he showered Joshua in kisses.

"J-Jeonghan!" Joshua giggled as he sniffled, catching his partner's lips and kissing him passionately.

It worked.

"Yes, Hannie. We finally have ourselves a baby~"

My sister is sick, and I've actually been thinking how I wouldn't mind getting her sickness if it meant I didn't have to go to school for a couple days. If I could have more time for my assignments, and not have to study or take my midterms coming up in a week. It's not healthy or right for me to want to be sick or hurt to get out of school.

"Uuuuugh...." Sylvia let out a groan; she felt she had been asleep, for a long time. She awoke, her eyes snapping open. The first thing she noticed was her hand; it had something on it. A gun of some sort....then, she saw a creature beside her. He was a orange furry muppet man; he had a strange gun on his hand too, and a green jacket of some sort tied around his waist. She decided to ignore him and look around. Where was she anyway?
