Storm (part 3)

“We both knew this wasn’t gonna be easy,” Sniper mumbled, staring out at the snowy plains.

After the team had switched bases, Sniper decided to take Scout for a walk in the snow, despite the weather and cold. They’d sat down for a talk, about what was going to happen next, but things had turned dark quickly.

Scout just shook his head. “Snipes...please don’t do this again—“

“It’s not the same as last time,” Sniper tried to say, but he paused. Was it the same? “I just...I don’t know what I want,”

“You said you wanted me,” Scout muttered, bitter. “And now you ain’t sure?”

Sniper just shook his head. “You care too much, Scout. You really do,”

Scout started to say something but words failed him. He looked away, trying to blink back tears.

“I just wanna be with you,” he admitted finally.

“So do I,” Sniper told him softly. “But we have to be realistic, Scout. This won’t be easy at all—“

“Life’s not easy, pal,” Scout told him, his tone sharp and snarky.

“Hey!” Sniper snapped. “I never said it was. I just...” he trailed off, hanging his head. “I don’t know,”

Scout watched him for a few seconds, and then rose up. He started to walk away, but then turned back to look.

“You comin’ in? There’s supposed to be a blizzard tonight,”

Sniper didn’t look at him. “I’ll be there soon,”

“Okay,” Scout swallowed. “I-I’ll be waiting for you,”

Sniper tried to ignore the heartache he felt as he heard Scout’s footsteps crunching behind him in the snow, leaving him alone.

re: turning tide... do you have a "headcanon" as to how everything would turn out? or was where you ended the series where you'd ended your own thoughts about it? :)

At one point, there were some rough ideas as to what would happen regarding: scott as the werewolf head of a human community; stiles and derek’s relationship and how they could use it to their advantage (undercover missions together!!); and a few of the things that are foreshadowed if you squint (slaves disappearing from deucalion’s pack)– so there were some details? figured out. Like the overarching plot, but not the specifics. though im sure ive also forgotten some. I’d have to sit and think on it for a while.

unlike the months long gap between the 1st and 2nd; the third one was going to start pretty much right after the second– with scott, stiles, and derek heading back to beacon hills. Scott was going to inform them that he had to tell all the humans that he had been turned, Stiles was going to be unhappy about that but also lowkey convinced that he could convince all the humans to keep scott in charge. Or at least to let him stay and maybe put Lydia in charge? He’s not sure.

But either right as they get back or a week or two later, as the people of Beacon hills are debating (and like obvi Melissa and Deaton say they would leave too so those are other things to consider– head farmer and doctor just peacing on out)– Erica and Boyd show up.

Basically, it turns out that to increase his power, Deucalion (and some of his followers) are turning slaves into their Betas, and then killing them for more power (kinda like they did in the show). Usually, its a pretty quick process- Slave is turned, slave is a Beta, slave is killed pretty much that same night. But Deucalion got greedy (maybe before the summit bc he wanted to be as strong as possible, who knows) and decided to go for two at once– but Erica and Boyd were close friends (more?? more.) and managed to be each other’s anchors long enough to stay calm and escape.

So they need a new Alpha like STAT. And they sensed Scott (had heard rumors about Beacon Hills from other slaves. Which on the one hand, Stiles is happy about, but on the other, the rumors were not supposed to include a location. Fuck, security breach) so Scott because their Alpha bc otherwise they are out of control and then BH is like “welp. i guess we are a werewolf-human community now. rather than just a human community. We shall be an example of what we want to see in the world!” (except probably not in those words because thats plagiarism)

Anyway, it gets vaguer here but Stiles is basically like well, we cant let Deucalion slash his gang KILL PEOPLE and Derek is like “holy shit this is the most horrific thing to happen in werewolf culture ever, if other werewolves knew about this, they would bring him down”– so they make a joint decision to go on some UNDERCOVER MISSIONS. Starting with deucaloins outer circle to get some Proof and/or Intel. There was going to be codes and trust and Derek being a bit more of a badass

…. yeah, that was basically as far as i got. Laura was also involved somehow??? she and derek were going to work together and pretend that they were more power hungry than their mother?? that was their “in” to these events?? 

basically, it ended in a larger slave rebellion and werewolves turning on Deucalion because of the whole MURDER thing and Talia was going to… do stuff. Stiles was maybe going to kill Matt for kicks?
