good parent letter
this is a therapy skill i’ve learned and i think might be helpful to others to share here! so, here goes!
the idea is, we all have to parent our inner child, and developing that voice to be healthy and loving is a skill. you can benefit from this regardless of how your actual parents were growing up! the child modes are: happy, sad, angry, and impulsive, and they all need different things.
a happy child 😄 needs support (ie: that’s so cool you like to work on your legos, tell me more!)
a sad child 😥 needs reassurance (ie: it’s okay sweetie, i know it’s really hard, but you’re safe right now)
an angry child 😡 needs validation (ie: of course you’re upset, buddy, i would be too if someone pushed me)
an impulsive child 🤪 needs healthy limits (ie: sorry kiddo, i know you want to keep watching bluey, but you have to be up early tomorrow so it’s bedtime)
keep these things in mind with how you talk to yourself, you can even practice by writing them down in a letter. find what works for you and always be gentle with yourself and remember your healing journey won’t look like anyone else’s 💕
it's picrew chain time again!

i’m a pawrista…i can make u a puppyccino ^_^
simultaneously want to be hyper independent, able to do everything myself and never even thinking of needing someone and also taken care of and given love and support and attention like a child or perhaps a puppy. is this really too much to ask…sigh ;-;
Do you have any Little Volt Headcanons? - Ageredateeverything
regressor volt hcs ⚡️
for @ageredateeverything (sorry these are MONTHS late 😅)
is almost the complete opposite of his usual personality: very low energy, barely talking, anxious and uneasy
wants nothing more than to be with eddie but terrified of being in that vulnerable position, of being out of control and the one needing help
when either volt or eddie is regressed, if they can bring themselves to ask, falling asleep in the others’ arms for a nap is the best sleep they ever get
if eddie is busy and volt is feeling too self conscious to go to him, he’ll sometimes go to betty, as she’s perfect for being a nap buddy, she’s gentle and understands what’s going on without having to ask questions that would be embarrassing
his natural tendency is to be very clingy, if he isn’t in the headspace to help and protect eddie he at least needs to visually confirm that he’s okay, but he often represses this and isolates instead, he’ll sit or lay on the floor of the shower or their bed, hugging his knees and rocking trying to self soothe
in the classic eddie and volt dynamic of “i’ll give you the world you just have to ask”, eddie would never shame volt or hold his regression against him, god knows the stress they’re both under they’re just coping by any means necessary, even if he was having a bad pain day he would be glad to just rest together, making sure volt is okay and prioritizing his comfort over the maintenance, but he rarely even knows it’s happening
volt is autistic but normally very high masking, but if he’s regressing he’s usually too tired or stressed to keep it up so he’s quieter, making less eye contact, stimming more visibly, etc

omg so i got a kids fitness watch (cheaper and i have small wrists) and was setting up the account and it was asking how old your “child” is and i was like um…23…but that was just v funny to me as a regressor hehehe
