vampire weekend! (of course)
this is amazing i have gotten 3/4 of my fav bands of our gen so far!!!
first mtv used to do this thing where they would play "indie" music late late late at night like 1am ish and i remember seeing a-punk and thinking these werid ass guys wearing bright sweaters singing about raincoats?? and i kinda just disregarded it
second the giving up the gun video starred joe jonas and though this was not during my jo-bros phase i just remember sitting on the floor of my best friend at the times living room and being like wtf? indoor tennis? what are you doin here joe jonas?
third a-punk was in just dance 1 (which i am totally bitchin at btw) and i used to play a lot with my friends
fourth just like a lot of general exposure to both contra and their self titled through friends and radio and i think from there it was really easy for me to do my own research and from my own opinions, vampire weekend though ive only been really into for a couple years but ive known of them for probably 5
