(why are there no gifs that fit this story setting... sadness)
Request: Requests? I'd love a prompt of Murphy and Clarke. Something along the lines of Murphy apologize for betraying Clarke before and something along the lines of them realizing they're similar in many ways. Bonus points if they hug. (Because let's face it, these two babies need hugs.)
A/N: Yes! I love this prompt! I’m sorry if I went a little off the rails, since I also make Clarke apologize slightly, but I just felt it fit better than Just having Murphy sit there and apologize, yknow?
Setting: Somewhere between the end of season 6 and the beginning of Season 7.
Warnings: None really? Slight mentions of torture and the hanging, but I dont think much else? If there’s anything else, feel free to tell me!

Clarke walks out of her bedroom door to see Murphy sitting to the side of it, his one leg stretched out in front of him, and his other is bent up towards his chest. She looks down at him, confusion ghosting her features.
"Uh, Murphy?" She asks, and Murphy looks up to her, biting his thumb nail.
"Oh. Uh, Hey." He says, and then looks back towards the wall in front of him. Clarke tilts her head and walks in front of him, standing in-between him and the wall. Murphy looks up at her again, his eyes finding hers. She see's his eyes are wet, and slightly red.
'What's going on?" Clarke asks, concern in her voice. She kneels down in front to him, putting a hand on his outstretched leg. Murphy sighs loudly and looks to the side, not wanting to face her.
'I'm sorry." Murphy says, his voice low. He looks forward at Clarke, pushing past his nervous-ness. Clarke watches him for a few minutes, waiting for him to elaborate but he never does.
"Sorry for what?" She asks, and Murphy scoffs.
"Where to begin?" He snarks and shakes his head, looking down at the floor. "Everything."
"Everything?" Clarke asks. Murphy looks back up to her eyes.
"Yeah. Everything. For being an ass when we met. For treating you like everything was your fault, for staying angry at you for so long no matter what you did. For Josephine. For... For your mom." He says, his voice cracking, and tears welling up in his eyes. "I never wanted this. I never wanted to be the guy who chased people away. I never wanted to be who i was when we first landed. I never wanted to be the guy who was seen as a traitor. I didn't want this, and I don't want you hurt." Murphy continues, and Clarke listens, letting Murphy get everything out. Honestly, she had forgiven him for how he was in the beginning. They had all been young, we let our emotions, which had mostly been anger, to influence everything they did. She had grown since then, and she knows Murphy has too. She'd never want to be remembered by what she has done in the past, so why should we do it to Murphy?
"It's okay. People make mistakes." Clarke says, hoping she sounds sincere enough to show Murphy that she means it.
"Yeah, but I've done it too many times... Just let me apologize. Don't try and act like what I have done isn't bad." Murphy says. Clarke sighs softly and sit next to him now, her back against the wall.
"We've both done things to each other that weren't good, Murphy. All that matters is the steps we take moving forward. I forgive you." Clarke says, her voice soft. Murphy turns his head to her and nods slowly.
"Okay, okay good. About your mom-"
"Don't. Please." Clarke interrupts, and Murphy sighs. "I know you didn't want it to happen. It's okay. I don't blame you." And Murphy feels a weight lift from his chest.
"Okay." Murphy says simply, letting his head rest against the wall.
"You know... I'm sorry for the past too. I know I didn't always treat you the best." Clarke says, and Murphy shrugs.
"You were never as bad as I was. You cared even after I got banished." Murphy says, remembering back to that time. He tries to avoid it, since the very thought of the torture makes his stomach twist.
"Sometimes I forget that was our lives. It's been so long, and we've been through so much, it just doesn't feel real anymore." Clarke says, and Murphy nods.
"Yeah." Murphy says, even if he personally doesn't feel that way. Sometimes the hanging, and the week that came afterward, feel like it was just yesterday. Sometimes it even feels like he is experiencing it. He need to start talking to Jackson.
"Murphy, our lives are weird. Just know that I forgive you. And you are able to redeem yourself in any way you feel is needed." Clarke says, and Murphy smiles.
"You too." Murphy says, and Clarke leans over and hugs him, Murphy freezes for a second before smiling and hugging back. Clarke pulls back and pats Murphy's knee.
"Alright. We need to get out there and re-make sanctum." Clarke says, and Murphy agrees.
"It's going to be hard. Those guys won't listen to you." Murphy says, watching as Clarke stands up. Clarke smirks down at him.
"Yeah, but I've got you, I think I'll be okay." She reaches out a hand, and Murphy smiles. Forgiveness is something that he never thought he'd achieve from anyone. He can help her. He can be here for his friend, and he can help her re-build sanctum. He can do what he refused to do when they first landed. He grabs her hand.
Summary: Just as the hundred, Venus was born in space, 2126; same year as Bellamy Blake. They were born on the same day, grew up together, and were inseparable until a drop ship to Earth was launched and destiny separated them.
CHAPTER ONE: Pilot
Note: Hi! Remember me?! Lol. I know this is not my usual writing scene but I’m into a rabbit home with this show. I’m obsessed. Hope y’all give it a opportunity.
“You can’t do this, Bell.” Venus retorted, her voice full of concern. “They’ll float you.”
“Not if I float myself first,” Bellamy told Venus in a serious tone.
The seriousness of Bellamy’s tone and semblance scared Venus. She hopelessly waited for the thin line his lips formed to turn into a curve. She hoped to see a smirk on his lips, hoping for the smallest feature of humor, but it didn’t appear and it terrified her even more.
“Bell-,”
Bellamy cut her words with one of the strongest hugs he’s even given her. Deep down, Venus knew this would be their last hug, and she didn’t want to let go. Bellamy cut the hug slowly, looking deeply into her eyes, taking a deep breath in and slowly letting it out.
“Why are you doing this?” Venus spoke, her voice shaky and scared for Bellamy’s fate.
“You can’t tell anyone, but... they are sending a hundred from the skybox to Earth. My sister is in that list… I have to do this, V. I can’t let her go alone to Earth.” Bellamy said, holding her hand.
The time was too short for Venus to process all the information that was being given. Bellamy was about to kill the Chancellor, aboard a ship to Earth and leave her.
“I’m going with you.” Venus stated.
Venus words didn’t take Bellamy by surprise. He’d knew her since they were kids, she’s always been brave. Bellamy wanted to take her with him but he couldn’t, there wasn’t enough space.
“I can’t… There’s only space for one more,” Bellamy said.
Venus shook her head, “I’m not letting you go alone to Earth with a ship full of kids.”
Bellamy clenched his jaw, tempted by the thought of taking Venus with him. But he couldn’t do it, the deal was for him… He couldn’t put a target on her back as well. In that moment, the watch on his wrist began to ring. It was time.
He shot his eyes close for a brief second. Bellamy kissed Venus, deeply and with passion. He wanted to remember how her lips tasted. Venus lips weren’t foreign to his; she kissed him back with the same passion. Even if she didn’t want to accept it in that moment, deep down Venus knew this was the last time she’d taste him. It was goodbye.
“I’m sorry but I can’t take you with me, V.”
The click around her wrist startled her. She looked down to see the handcuff around her wrist, the other side connecting with a pipe of their flat. Venus shot a glare to Bellamy.
“Bellamy!” Venus yelled, hopeless and in shock. “Don’t!”
Tears were on his eyes, he couldn’t let his sister go alone into that dropship yet go to Earth by herself. Octavia was his sister and his responsibility. Bellamy knew Venus too well, she would do anything to follow his steps, even if it meant killing the Chancellor herself.
“I love you,” Bellamy’s voice broke. “May we meet again.”
“Don’t!” Venus yelled again, trying to force her way out of the handcuffs. “Don’t you dare to leave me! Bellamy! If you walk through that door, you’ll lose me.”
Bellamy looked at her a minute, taking in her beauty, even when she was pissed, she still looked beautiful. “If I don’t walk through this door, I’ll lose my sister.” He glanced to his right, on top of her passed down desk, there was a picture of him and Venus, it was taken on Unity Day.
“Please don’t,” Venus cried, “let me go with you.”
He gazed at her one last time before leaving her.
It took Venus fifty minutes to get out of those handcuffs. When she finally did a loud sound trembled through the walls; it was the dropship being launched. Venus ran out of her chamber and towards the nearest window. She stared at the ship going down and entering earth. Her heart beat too fast for it to be healthy.
Suddenly people began to surround her, they stared confused at the dropship.
“Doctor Venus Gray. You’re solicited in Medical.”
She heard the words from the speakers but she wasn’t processing them. Until a woman shook lightly her arm, bringing her back to reality.
“Ms. Gray? They need you in Medical.” She said, concern in her eyes.
Venus looked down and nodded, “Yeah.”
She turned and made her way into Medical. Chaos met her as soon as she strolled in. Chancellor Jaha laid in the bed as doctor Abby Griffin worked to save his life. When Venus mother died, Abby became her mentor, she taught Venus everything she knew about medicine.
“Did they ID the person who shot him?” Venus asked knowing who had done it.
Abby looked up, “It doesn’t matter right now. What matters is to save his life. Help me.”
Venus nodded and got prepared to help Abby. It took more medical rations than lawfully accepted to save Jaha but they did it. Abby and Venus saved him but at the cost of being accused of wasting blood and medical materials. Abby’s motherly instincts didn’t let Venus get blamed for it. Abby blamed herself of using the extra rations and forcing Venus to back her up.
“This is ridiculous, Kane.” Venus glared at the chief of the guard. “Abby saved Jaha, our chancellor, you can’t float her for that.”
Kane looked at Venus in the eye, there wasn’t an ounce of sorry in his look. He wanted to be chancellor, he wanted to be in charge, and that devotion made Venus think in the worst.
Did Kane give the order to kill Jaha? Would he can do that just for the power?
“She’s a doctor, now The Ark only has two of them…” Venus voice softened, “You can’t float her.”
“You can take her place,” Kane said and turned.
Venus looked at Abby standing alone in the capsule. She couldn’t see this, she couldn’t be a witness of this injustice. Just when Venus turned Jaha appeared, he was clearly out of breath from walking all the way there.
“Abby is pardoned. ” Jaha glared at Kane. “Get her out of there, now.”
I basically ran with the idea that Raven is working to find a way to make Becca’s newly found bunker inhabitable in 4x09. There’s no way to store enough water in the bunker for everyone so Raven is working on a solution. She’s not having hallucinations, just being her awesome self. Murphy and Emori are hanging back at the lab with her while waiting on the others to return. This is my first fic, so please be nice. Thanks, and enjoy!
“Damn it!” Raven threw the schematics she was working on into the already overflowing trash can. They joined the crumbled corpses of dozens of previously discarded ideas. Hundreds of scraps of materials – textiles, metals, plastics – are also thrown about Raven’s desk, each the victim of Raven’s frenzied research.
“Okay, I think it’s time to cut you off. That’s enough science for right now, girl wonder.” Murphy spun in his chair at the next workstation over, tossing a ball up into the air and catching it. “Take a break.”
“Murphy, no. It’s great that Jaha and his adventure squad found Becca’s secret bunker, but there still won’t be a way to store enough water for everyone living down there. There has to be another solution – a way to still use the water from the outside.”
“Yeah, well, you’re not going to solve it on your own. Let Emori and I help. We’ve just been sitting here watching your for hours. Give us something to do.”
“There’s nothing you can do!” Ravens frustration grows, “Unless you secretly studied engineering back on the Ark, you’re not of much help.” She takes a breath, calms, and speaks softly, “God, what I would give to have Sinclair here. He knew every technical detail of the water initiatives on the Ark.” Raven slowly backs away from her workstation, and walks to join Emori on the couch that they had moved into the lab a couple days ago. Emori makes room on the couch and pats the cushion next to her. Raven complies.
She hangs her head for a moment, then looks up, “I need to find a way to filter the radioactive rain, make it safe for drinking and storing. And even after that’s done, we still need a way to bring it safely inside the bunker from the radioactive wasteland outside of it.”
“That’s assuming we even survive to make it to the bunker,” Emori turns to Murphy, “Tell me again, John, why the rest haven’t come back for us yet? Why shouldn’t we just start prepping a bunker of our own here?”
Murphy gives Emori a soft glare, “Not helping.” She scoffs. Murphy walks over to the couch to place a hand on her shoulder, “Hey, come on. I guarantee they’ll be back soon. It’s what they do: go out for a mission, find a hopeless situation, adventure squad their way to a solution, and then return home a couple days later with more mouths to feed. It hasn’t been that long, so we’re good.”
Emori doesn’t buy it, “I need some air.” She gets up from the couch and walks out of the room, leaving Raven and Murphy alone. He uncomfortably backs away from the couch, walking over to Raven’s workstation again. He kicks away the discarded papers in his path, clearly frustrated. He takes a moment, then turns to Raven’s whiteboard that’s filled with technical information he clearly does not understand. Dismissing the tension of the last few minutes, he speaks, “Why can’t we just use the same method we used on the Ark, again? Isn’t hydrazine your favorite toy?”
“It won’t work. Ilian blew up all the hydrazine we knew of in a 100 mile radius. Even then, it wouldn’t have been able to supply water to the entire bunker for an extended period. It just wasn’t enough,” Raven walks over to join Murphy in front of the whiteboard. She points to the several surviving schematics tacked to the board, “The recommended method to remove radiation from water is reverse osmosis. I just can’t figure out how to get it to work.”
“Reverse osmosis? English, please Raven.”
“We basically have to force the radioactive water through an incredibly dense membrane that only allows, well mostly allows, water through. It’ll filter out most of the radiation, like 99%, as long as it’s not gaseous.”
“Okay, so what’s the problem? Why hasn’t it been working?” Murphy starts to understand the reason behind the scraps of materials cluttering the room. Raven pulls out a chair and sits.
“We don’t have access to the right materials. The membrane material must have an incredibly dense, yet porous structure. None of the materials we have fit the bill – their either too dense or too porous. I’m stuck.”
“Okay, then…” Murphy continues to study the workstation, and then a thought hits him. “How did Mount Weather do it?”
“What?”
“Mount Weather. Evil science bunker with a creepy affinity for art and keeping grounders hostage as radiation filters. Their bodies couldn’t hand the outside radiation, right? How did they filter their water?”
Raven jumps up from her seat, “Murphy! You’re a genius!” She grabs Murphy, hugging him tightly, and smiling for the first time in days “I mean, there’s a dozen new problems to solve, but that will work. I’ve got to go.” She immediately gets to work packing up supplies and tearing research from its place on the white board.
Murphy leans back against the board, “I’m glad somebody recognizes it. Emori and I can join you – only problem is, we still don’t have a boat. The group still hasn’t returned yet.”
“Who hasn’t returned yet?” They turn to see Miller and Jackson at the door, the former having just spoken. Emori enters after them, calmer and less anxious than before. Miller speaks again, “Sorry that took longer than expected. Some of us had to hang back in Polis. Ready to go?”
“Yeah, just not to the bunker. We need to make a pit stop,” Raven stops packing to greet the returning team members, each of them sharing the same expression of confusion.
“Okay…care to share where? Or why?” Jackson asks, not entirely trusting a change of plans.
“Mount Weather. We have some water filters to relocate. Pack the jeep.” Raven smiles, grabs a box and exits. There is no question that they will be following her. They now have a plan. It may not be the best one, but she knows it can work with a little improvisation. Sinclair would be proud.
