I got some things to say to you friend. Some words if you will. Been planning a bit on how to say this

First and foremost. I don't even like FNAF. Not my cup of tea, not really my thing. Never has been, never will be. But then one fateful day, I got a glimpse of some fanart of your O'Medusa fic while scrolling.

And friend. Let me tell you something. LeT mE TeLl YoU sOmeThiNg

This fic of yours was one of the most delectable pieces of literature I have consumed (yes that's right CoNsUmEd) in a FAT minute. Like, I legit stayed up late reading it, to the point I went to work the next day on only 4 hours of sleep it was THAT riveting.

You have this incredible skill with your words that paint such vivid pictures without being over done or dramatic, that literally just transports your readers into your story as willing or unsuspecting victims with an ease that's simply magical.

So caught up in this story that I IMMEDIATELY had to send it to my roommate (who actually is a major FNAF fan) because I swear it was literally written just for her. Like it has elements of almost all her favorite literary devices and tropes while still being the singularly most unique piece I've ever had the privilege of reading.

It's been fun to hear her reactions through the door as she curses me out for sharing this with her. My favorite part was when I told her to wait for chapter 5 and we both ended up having a stand off in the hallway before promptly disabling into fangirling at the same time and interval. Literally taking the poses like this

Seriously tho, chapter 5 was incredibly moving. I never expected a hug to impact me as much as it did. I’m not ashamed to say that I was sincerely moved to tears. It was just that well written.

You, my friend, are a fabulous creature. And I am so honored to exist as the same time with such a dazzling mind as yourself. Thank you for sharing parts of it with the rest of us. I shall be sending you my fanfic therapy bill hereafter. Thank you again and good day✨🫡

Alright. Time for some answers. Weird ones, but meh. It is what it is I suppose LOL

37. When creating characters, what comes first: appearance, backstory, motivation, personality, something else?

Listen.

These assholes just show up and take over.

Some of them have come in dreams.

Some of them have popped up in Sunshine's Laundry Room (this is where all the OC's like to convene at the back of my brain and hang out like the bunch of freeloaders they are. I'm kidding. I love all of them.)

Some of them crash the scene in a story already in production.

Some of them materialize out of necessity.

And they come in all different forms. Some start as a backstory (Jehannet). Some start in appearance (Basilio). Motivation? That would be Casey (We'll leave her for another playdate, though). Personality? That would be Nancy. As for the bit about dreams? Well. Most of them show up in some form or another in my dreams. Niles is the most recent. (Australian Jardine River Turtle - a humanoid mutant turtle. Are we surprised?)

So, a little of everything, I suppose 😅

43. How did writing change you?

Writing has given me an outlet for stress, anxiety, and depression. I suffered a life-changing injury, and I'm no longer able to be as physical as I once was, which is hard and lonely. But writing has opened up a whole new world. One that I can explore and learn from without the real-life consequences. It's opened up a means of healing - one that works better for me than anything else ever has. It has also given me a means of socializing when and where I am comfortable doing so. The pain I endure on a daily basis is not pleasant, so going out or having people visit me isn't always conducive to what my lifestyle now permits. However, I have met some truly extraordinary people here on Tumblr whom I now have the privilege of calling my friends. And not only do they have similar interests (and more than just turtles), but they are all kind and understanding, and I can now have some semblance of a normal social life again.

Writing has given me a lot and changed me for the better. And I am grateful every day to the professor who pushed me into writing and storytelling with all his encouragement in my ENG 100 class six years ago.

73. How do you visualize scenes? Do you see it like a movie in your head, or do the words just flow?

Boy is this a loaded question.

Well, there are a few ways things can go.

I have the flyby scenes - A story will fly through my brain like a film, but going as fast as a bullet train. At which point I have to "rewind it" and "replay it" in slow motion so I can write it.

Next is the "follow the character" route. I either follow the character or I am the character, and I just narrate everything happening.

There is also the listening method. The characters are in my brain and tell me how the story goes, along with how the dialogue needs to happen.

And then there are the dreams. I dream vividly and remember almost everything as if it were a memory. So when I wake up, I try to access a document as soon as possible so I can get it all down.

But no matter how the story pops into existence, don't ever think for a second that I'm allowed to create and mold any of these stories. The characters do that. I'm just the writer.

What can I say, I'm a weird gal 😅🤷🏼‍♀️
