My Ghost Stories from my University #1
My first encounter with the Theater Ghost at my University was my first year in the Fall semester.
I was stage managing for our Fall play and I always get to the theater 30 minutes early to put up our 'set' since the actual set hadn't been built yet (this was early in rehearsals). This usually consisted of a bunch of chairs from the wings put together on stage in a certain place and dragging two chairs for the director and I to sit on. It was always quick and ended with me waiting for the director and actors to show up as I sit in the empty theater for the remaining 20 minutes.
But this one time, as I'm waiting on the stage in my chair, a loud and deep laugh echoed from the left of the theater. It was so loud that you would think it was coming from the speakers. Not wanting to be the stupid person in a horror movie, I booked it out of there and pass security doing their rounds. The brief thought of security playing a prank crossed my mind, but they were coming from the opposite direction of the laugh.
Since then, I started entering the theater with my evil eye in my pocket. I also began to say "hello" and "goodbye" to the theater ghost so that it would perceive me as a friend and not haunt me. While I did stop bringing my evil eye to the theater, I do still greet and give my farewell to the Theater Ghost whenever I have to go in there for any reason
