More TBB Thoughts - Echo

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2

I want to address the "we're in this situation because of Omega" thing.

I've seen a couple of people calling Echo an asshole for this, but if we're being completely honest here, he's not wrong???

It isn't Omega's fault. Echo knows that. But he isn't wrong in saying that Omega is the reason they are in this situation. It is her presence in their lives that means they are in this place, but that doesn't mean it's her fault.

People's lives/life circumstances change when a child arrives and that's exactly what has happened to The Batch. It doesn't mean that it's the child's fault though.

Echo doesn't blame her. He never did. But it's also understandable that she heard his conversation with Hunter and felt guilty. Her presence has altered their lives and she feels responsible for that. That's why she tries to get the treasure. Because she wants to help them, not burden them.

And once Echo finds out that she feels like a burden because of what he said, he makes sure she knows that that's not the case. He understands that her overhearing what he said hurt her and he rectifies that. She didn't know that he doesn't blame her and that's understandable.

But as I said earlier, Echo isn't wrong.

What he said was the truth. Okay, it's the bitter truth, and not everyone wants to hear it, but it is the truth.

He never blamed Omega because it was never her fault. But he was the only one willing to stand up and point out that Omega's presence has altered their lives and not always for the better. Looking after a child is difficult, it causes problems. Echo knows this. But he also knows that the sacrifices are worth it because he would never want anything to happen to her.

Echo is someone who will stand up and say what needs to be said, even if it isn't easy to hear.

Bad Batch Spoilers

"Why didn't Tech just use his winch gun to hook onto the rail car and reel himself up?" I wondered this myself. I went back and watched the scene in slo-mo, and got some screen grabs. When the explosion knocks him over the side, he loses the winch gun. The grappling hook was all he had left.

The way I snort-laughed when Echo faceplanted in the first 2 seconds 🤣

Them teaching Omega and being proud of her when she gets things right 🥲🥰

Hunter being outvoted 😭🤣

Did not expect to see Sorenno that early

Tech's response to being flirted with was gold 🤣

The fact that we got more Tech and Echo development in these eps than the entirety of S1 😭❤️‍🩹

Tech, Echo and Omega team up 🥰

More thoughts will probably come to me once I've processed things because I only finished watching it like 15 minutes ago. But omg, those episodes were good. 😭 They might actually be some of my fave Bad Batch episodes overall. Good amount of tension, great humour, some heartfelt moments. Excited to see what the rest of this season has to offer! 🤩
