In an instant, the air tore apart; a cacophony of noise alongside a white blur were sent hurtling straight into a wall.

Silver fell to the floor. With the little strength he had, he pushed himself up slightly. His eyes were half-lidded, but despite his hazy gaze — he kept it forward, piercing through the portal.

He waited a second longer than he should've, watching the action continue without him. A single glare was all he needed to grit his teeth, and make the world go quiet. The future would be fine — so long as he does something now.

He breathed out, slowly, letting himself fall back down. Unfortunately, he needed rest for... preferably a couple minutes.

Then he remembered he had no idea if he was safe, and lifted his head up. He scanned his surroundings, but he took a second to actually register what was around him. He squinted at the sight of the other hedgehog. Silver's tongue felt heavy, but he had to ask. ❝ Sh'dow? ❞

{➹} – "ACTUALLY, THE archery came before the nickname." A common misconception, but one that always managed to humor the hero. The other had caught Arrow practicing said skill, though it was glaringly obvious he didn't need to, given the accuracy of his shots.

Stowing things away for the time being in the quiver on his back, he smiled at Ash. "I started it because I wanted something a bit more ranged when going up against Robotnik. The nickname actually comes from the ear and what happened t' it."

He pointed to the little notch in his left ear.

@the-blankest-slate sent: The nameless hedgehog raised an eyebrow, stopping in his tracks as Whisper walked by, his attention drawn to the mechanical arm she sported. Interesting. He wasn’t quite familiar with the exact make of it. Seemed well-made, though. He had to know more. He turned around, following the wolf, “Ah, hey! Sorry to bother you, but… I was just wondering if I could ask you a few questions about that arm? If it’s okay, I’d just like to examine it. I’m always interested in how cool stuff works.”

Trying to... 'be casual', after everything, was just a much of a war as the one she fought through. Not to mention that her war hadn't ended when everyone else's had. No, her own only ended a month or so ago, and even still, it felt a touch unfinished even still.

It was so hard for her to turn off all that combative nature, that readiness, even if Whisper had finally found an outfit she found herself comfortable in. Maybe that's why, even in her bright casual outfit, she still kept her Wispon Arm on. That and the fact her lighter prosthetics without the weaponry had begun to feel too light. Something to fix later.

Still, that also meant that, unfortunately for her, Whisper was still often on edge. Meaning an ear twitched when, after passing someone, she heard them turn behind her to follow her. Nothing crazy, of course, but it was enough to make her tense. Still, as the other actually spoke, the tension singing up her spine relaxed, and she turned to greet the other with a demure smile of amusement.

<If you can speak Sign Language, sure. Otherwise, this'll be awkward.>

The hand movements came in rapid fashion, brows raised expectantly for the answer. Whisper wouldn't blame him if he couldn't, of course, but trying to be comprehensible through voice recordings on this matter? That'd be tough.

He'd sensed it. The moment the cut between worlds had been made, his own reality reaching out to grasp at another. It was getting more and more common- more and more concerning, but he could do little about that at present. No, he had something more important to be focusing on as he ran across the sands. The sun bit into his manifestation, daring to claw at shadows held together purely by Chaos Energy. But he didn't stop, not as he felt the beating sun on his quills, not as the pack on his back thumped wildly with each step.

Why did it have to be near Sanden?

"Are you alright??" His voice called as he neared the stranger. Had to warn them. Had to warn them before they got too close and started speaking of another world, of cuts between dimensions. They'd disappear, no doubt.

His steps faltered and slowed, green hues finally landing on the frame of the one who'd been sent here. Similar, but not quite- enough to keep him from fleeing, though he did finally stop just a few feet away.

"Are you alright, stranger?" He repeated, using the mental fatigue the sun was cutting into him to make his form appear slightly out of breath- even going so far as to gasp slightly, like he'd been running for some time. He had- but...well. Some things just didn't work properly, for him.

it was the first time someone had said it since the couple had come out, to some people anyway, so sonic wasn't quite sure what to say. amy, on the other hand, was trying not to blush too hard.

He had finally decided to enter the city. Not for any particular reason, just because he wanted to. It felt better not thinking too much about the complicated stuff anyway — it wasn't his style. Going with the flow? Now that felt natural.

As he strolled down the streets — Chaos, he was blown-away. The buildings looked so much taller up close. It was much louder too, but everything was just begging to be explored; all the colors jumped out and called him over — it felt ( almost overwhelmingly ) exhilarating with how new and exciting everything was. He pressed his nose up against shop display windows, bought some food ( he found out he had a good amount of rings stored in his quills because of that ) from a street vendor, and curiously observed people live — city life seemed a lot more comfortable than living out in the wilderness; which might've been a given. But...

... then something took his attention away from everything else. The world quieted. A mechanic's workshop. It... for some reason, called to him. It felt... familiar, warm, yellow — he didn't realize he was walking towards it until he opened the door.

Naturally, he waved and flashed a smile. ❝ Hey, ❞ he greeted. All of those mannerisms just slipped right out of him, but the name of the mechanic ( who didn't feel familiar at all ) just refused to reach his lips.

{➹} – "YOU CAN'T GO that way!"

The shout was loud, abrupt, maybe even a little pissed off. At first, it wasn't obvious who or what had said it, but soon a cloaked figure seemed to come out of nowhere in the darkness. Their face was obscured but their tone was anything but friendly.

"Do you have a death wish or something? Can't you see this place is dangerous?" A cloaked arm motioned to the space spread before them. Ruined, nothing but ashes, some smoldering coals. The place had been a village once, but was nothing more than a levelled plot of land.

What more, in the distance and blissfully unaware of the current conversation were the noticeable silhouette of badniks.
