As the season of winter, of hibernation and rest would settle upon the realm, blankets of brilliant snow covering the earth, not letting even a glimpse of green through, so the Earthmother herself would feel just slightly drowsy on a daily basis all throughout those long months. Even in places where snow would not settle, even on continents where the temperatures remained warm enough to have the population insist on wearing something more appropriate for a beach trip - there was much less activity, less visible life. Oh, and what do you know? The winter spirit himself actually did his job on time. This season was just one big field day for him, really - usually, he tended to get carried away. And yet!.. Not a month earlier, not even a week, not deciding to freeze the forests at first days of autumn. Everything appeared to be in order. What a nice development that was! Something worthy of a remark - or simply an excuse to bother Frost a little. Gaia seemed rather fond of doing that. "Enjoying yourself, Jack?" Her soft voice carried over by the wind would reach the Guardian's ears, perhaps even tickle him a little in her own brand of a greeting.
