I love how much reading enriches your life! Today I visited the #washingtonstatehistorymuseum and was enveloped in the History of Professional Football exhibit which features the legendary Jim Thorpe, All-star athlete and Native American who changed the history of the sport! Perfect timing too- coincidentally just finished the most fascinating book by one of my favorite authors @SteveSheinkin Undefeated: Jim Thorpe and the Carlisle Indian School Football Team. To Baker teachers & 8th grade Bulldogs: if you only squeeze time into your life to read one book this summer, make it this one. It is rare that I would recommend a book this highly and to such a broad audience but trust me, it will impact you no matter who you are. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas @angiethomas is a must read; I can't emphasize this enough. Check out a copy from your local Public library, also available as a downloadable audio book (such as the one pictured), e-book online through your TPL Pathway card (aka your school ID). I have a print copy at Baker Library and have a wait list running, comment if you want to be added to the wait list or if you want me to email you with directions on how to assess materials through the Tacoma Public Library.
