I use this book as a model text every year with my 8th graders during our historical fiction/narrative nonfiction writing unit. The prologue begins with Harry Gold racing to hide any evidence from the FBI, who are on their way to interrogate him. The suspense continues to grow as the agents enter his home and begin going through his drawers and bookshelves. This book has a fantastic narrative aspect that almost make the reader forget that these events truly took place. It's a great read-aloud for middle and high school. I can promise your students won't be disappointed by this one!
