Alex! Super random question but I'm asking because you're obviously knowledgable, but what's your opinion of Jacob Artist's and Blake Jenner's voices?

Jacob’s voice is…nice, but then it hits a certain register, like the climax of “Let Me Love You” (I just listened to it on the gleeperformances tumblr lol) and most of  ”Oh Hanukkah”, and it gets really…throaty and froggy. It reminds me a lot of why I didn’t like Eddie in Les Mis, but he sounds much better in his other registers. He just needs to brighten up his higher notes. He’s talented but he needs some more vocal coaching and I’m 99.999999% sure Glee does not provide any training or coaching or else a lot of them wouldn’t sound so awful.
Now Blake…Blake is charming and he seems to act it well from the little I’ve watched, but there’s nothing really amazing about his voice, imo. It’s just kind of there. It’s not bad by any means and it’s quite pleasant, but it’s not stand out like some of the others. He’s obviously not hurting himself, which is a big standout from some of the lessers on the show, so that’s something. :)
