I just realised that one of the early relationships in my WIP is like if Merthur had been canon, but if Arthur was the one with magic. 😂

Illustration of The Broken Heart
“Iohann reached the casket at last. He barely registered the Duchess’ hand poised over Lilith’s chest. The boy’s eyes glued to his friend’s face. ‘No,’ He paled. His True Love was dead.” I am so ecstatic to have finally finished this piece! It took so long, but I think I am truly proud of it. I knew I had to illustrate this scene from my WIP “The Broken Heart”, and here we are. My inspiration was Iacopo Bruno, the illustrator behind The School For Good and Evil series.
✨Deleted Scene✨ ~ The Rewrite
Hello again! I have reflected upon the deleted scene I released from a year ago, and decided to rewrite it today. I hope you enjoy it. It's longer, (and a bit sloppy, I must admit), but it felt really good to write it. As always, let me know if you want to see more of these! 😁
Lilith stared at herself in the mirror, green eyes filled with fear she hadn’t felt in months. And, thankfully, Death had nothing to do with it.
No, her worries concerned her introduction into Iohann’s royal court, as his Duchess. She’d been preparing to reach this point since Caranina had died, which had helped her take her mind off of what she and her fiancé had done to survive.
She bit the inside of her cheek, a nasty habit she had picked up after getting her heart back, Maybe Caranina should have been Duchess, at least she could rule—
No. She chastised. I promised Iohann I wouldn’t devalue my worth anymore. I can do this.
She smiled, reassuring the broken girl in the mirror everything would be okay with the upturn of her lip.
Her eyes fell to her dress. What a magnificent specimen it was.
Her dress was a deep blue, bejewelled with orange phoenixes.
One particular phoenix caught her eye, its own seemed to burn into her soul.
As she felt her anxiety crawling over her skin, Charlotte knocked on the doorframe. ‘You ready?’
‘Yeah,’ she sighed as she patted her dress down and walked through the door.
Charlotte jumped at the sight of her. ‘Gods, you look like dea—You know what I mean.’
‘Do I really look that bad?’ Lilith fretted, brushing a piece of hair in front of her scar.
‘No. It’s just—Were you thinking about Death again?’
‘No. I was worrying about now. Being crowned, ruling over a country, not being good enough,’ Lilith blurted, thankful to have someone to talk to. ‘The normal stuff.’
‘Come on,’ Charlotte linked her arm in her friend’s. ‘I’m sure you’ll do fine.’
Lilith smiled, banishing the darkness which occupied her eyes.
‘How’s my Duke doing?’
‘Pleasantly tipsy,’ Charlotte laughed.
‘The usual I see. Good,’ Lilith shook her head.
They reached the doors, and Charlotte squeezed her arm. ‘You’ll do great.’
‘Introducing Lilith Descoteaux, Duchess of Phénix.’
Lilith squinted into the light as the doors were opened for her and stepped onto the stairs.
As her eyes adjusted to the harsh brightness, her eyes fell on her fiancé, who was quietly whispering with Rose. She nudged the Duke towards the stairs and took his drink as he made his way up the stairs with the ease of a sober person.
He met her at the top, his eyes swirling with pride and sparkling with wine.
‘Shall we?’ Lilith asked, her vulnerability breaking through.
‘We shall,’ he reassured her, pulling her eagerly down the stairs.
As soon as the music cut in, Lilith began to dance, the orchestra filling every corner of her mind.
She saw Death enter the room and join the dance.
Her body tensed.
It’s not supposed to be like this.
She wasn’t going to say anything, but the citizens who danced around her fell to the ground, skin cold before they’d hit the floor.
The Duchess reached for her sword from within her dress, only to withdraw her hand.
She danced towards them, sending a look of warning towards the Duke. He quietly escorted the survivors out the door until only Lilith and Death remained.
As they continued to dance to the beat of the terrified orchestra, Lilith began to tire, and had come to terms with her fate.
She hadn’t given in to Death the first time, so they had come to pull her soul from her whether she was ready or not.
Her knees buckled. ‘Death—’
‘I will not be denied. Not again.’
‘Please,’ she cried, ‘I never wanted this—Any of this. If I go with you, can you assure all those you killed tonight can pass on peacefully?’
‘No. I’m sorry,’ they said. ‘But it doesn’t matter. Your time here is fleeting.’
They scoffed. ‘The Purest Heart grows weak.’
The doors flew open, and a furious Iohann stormed into the room, covering the distance between them in seconds.
‘Death,’ he announced. ‘This needs to stop. Lilith means no harm. It was me who brought her back. You know this. And yet—You continue to pursue her. Why?’
‘Iohann—’ Lilith farewelled as she collapsed to the floor.
Death scooped up her body and disappeared, his sockets boring into Iohann’s soul—
He bolted up in bed, the mattress drenched in sweat, and his throat raw from screaming. Lilith sat on the bed beside him and rubbed his back, a chalice of water in hand.
‘Iohann—’
The Duke collapsed into sobs, turning away from her.
Lilith placed the chalice beside the bed.
‘Hey.’ She lifted his chin. ‘I’m right here. Death isn’t.’
‘I—’ Iohann swallowed and tried again, the sobs receding. ‘I’m so sorry.’
‘Whatever for?’ Lilith cocked her head. ‘Grimhelde paid the price for my curse, did she not?’
‘But if I’d found you sooner…’ He trailed, eyes glazing over with grief.
‘But I’m here now. And that’s what matters,’ She placed a kiss atop his forehead, much like he had done long ago. ‘I’m not going to leave you.’
He snuggled into her shoulder, eyes raw and blank, yet at peace.
She stroked his hair lovingly, and they sat together until the sun rose. The Duke had taken to sleep once more, but the Duchess couldn’t seem to let it claim her.
-----------------------------------------------
The Duchess wandered the cemetery later that day. She stood by the four graves; her mother’s, her father’s, her stepmother’s, and her stepsister’s. She would have requested for her stepfamily to be separated from her parents, but they were family by law.
She’d be amongst them eventually; but for now, leaving a simple rose on her parents’ graves would suffice. Her lips met the stone, and she felt warm arms wrap around her.
‘Feeling better?’ she asked, turning to face the Duke.
‘No,’ he sighed. ‘You?’
‘No,’ she said, ‘How I wish you could’ve met them. I miss them so much.’
‘I know.’ Iohann pressed his lips to her head. ‘We’ll get through this.’
She found his hand and turned her eyes to the sky, the two at peace.
✨Deleted Scenes✨
I’m not sure how many of you still read these, but I’m continuing them anyway. Today, I have a story. I had finished my work for the moment, and I was just scrolling through my ‘Stories’folder and came across the folder ‘Deleted Scenes’ inside my folder for all stuff ‘The Phénix Chronicles’.
And so, I opened it. And let me tell you, it was a gold mine. And if you’ve seen my other social media, you’d know I said the work in there was better than the entirety of my tenth draft. That said, I’d like to share my favourite excerpt from ‘The Broken Heart’. In addition to issuing a spoiler warning, I’d also like to inform you guys that my stance on certain plot points has changed. Enjoy! ❤️
Lilith stared blankly at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were filled with fear she hadn’t felt in months. And Death had nothing to do with it. She was being introduced into Phénix’s royal court, as Iohann’s Duchess.
She’d been training to reach this point, but now that she was here… No, she chastised, I made a promise to Iohann. I won’t put myself down anymore. I can do this.
She forced a smile on her face and let her eyes fall to her dress. Her dress was blue, the dress bejewelled with orange phoenixes. She focused on one particular phoenix, its eyes seeming to be burning into her soul.
As she felt the anxiety crawling over her skin, Charlotte knocked on the door, ‘You ready, L?’ ‘Yeah,’ Lilith sighed as she patted her dress down and opened the door. Charlotte jumped back, ‘You look like Dea— You know what I mean.’ ‘Do I really look that bad?’ Lilith fretted, brushing a piece of hair in front of her scar. ‘No, it’s just—Were you thinking about Death again?’ ‘No. I was worrying about now. Being crowned. Ruling over a country. Not being good enough,’ Lilith blurted, thankful to be venting to someone, the normal stuff.’ ‘Come on,’ Charlotte linked an arm with hers, ‘I’m sure you’ll do fine.’ Lilith smiled, banishing the darkness as her eyes brightened again. ‘How’s my Duke doing?’ ‘Pleasantly tipsy,’ Charlotte laughed. ‘The usual, I see,’ Lilith smiled, shaking her head. They reached the doors and Charlotte squeezed her arm, ‘You’ll do fine.’ ‘Introducing Lilith Descoteaux, Duchess of Phénix.’ Lilith squinted into the light, and stepped out onto the stairs.
As her eyes adjusted to the harsh lighting, her eyes fell on Iohann, who was quietly whispering with Rose. She nudged the Duke towards the stairs, and he made his way up them with the ease of a sober person. He met her at the top of the stairs, his eyes swirling with pride. ‘Shall we?’ Lilith asked, her voice displaying her vulnerability. ‘We shall,’ Iohann reassured her, pulling her eagerly down the stairs.
As soon as the music cut in, Lilith began dancing, her mind filling with the swell of the music. She saw Death enter the room and join the dance and her body tensed. She wasn’t going to say a word, but then his partners began collapsing; their bodies already cold by the time they hit the floor. She drew her sword from under her dress and cut through the circle. The remaining dancers continued to dance, and Lilith neared him.
The Duchess sent a look of warning to Iohann when she locked eyes with him, and he silently began escorting the survivors out of the ballroom. Excluding the dead bodies, Lilith and Death were the last two dancers. As they continued to dance to the beat of the horrified orchestra, Lilith gradually began to tire, and she had already come to terms with what was occurring. She hadn’t given in to Death, so he’d begun to pull her soul from her body with force. Her knees buckled, and Death pulled her sword from her hands. ‘Death—’ she said, her voice weak. ‘I will not be denied. Not again.’ ‘Please,’ she cried, ‘I never wanted any of this. If I go with you, can you assure all of the souls you killed tonight will pass on peacefully?’ ‘No,’ Death said, ‘But it doesn’t matter. Your time on this earth is fleeting. The Purest Heart grows weak.’
The doors flew open, and a furious Iohann stormed into the room, covering the distance between them within a few minutes. ‘Death,’ he announced, ‘This needs to stop. Lilith meant no harm to you or the world. It was me who brought her back. You are aware of this, so why do you keep pursuing her when I’m to blame?’ ‘Iohann—’ Lilith begged as she collapsed to the floor. Death scooped up Lilith’s soul into his arms and sent it to the underworld. Iohann skidded towards her and held her body in his arms. Eyes of loathing meeting Death’s sockets. ‘Why did you kill her? It was me! I resurrected her,’ Iohann cried, ‘She was with child, you miserable bastard!’ Death shrugged, ‘She didn’t go when I asked. It was no fault of mine she was with child when I took her.’ ‘I’m going to kill you!’ Iohann screamed. ‘You’re joking right?’ Death knelt down to Iohann, lifting his chin with his bony hand, ‘I’m Death. No matter how much you desire it, you cannot kill me.’ ‘You can say whatever you like, but it won’t stop me from trying.’ Then he was gone.
Author’s Note I hope you enjoyed reading that as much as I did! 😂 I’m not sure if it’ll make it into the final draft at this stage, but I’m sure I can try and fit it somewhere. Let me know if you’d like to see more of these! ❤️

The story of this book deserves 5 star as it gives light on the friendship.
The book is written in simple English and even a non reader will like it .
I really liked the book story.
The low mentality of the people in society killing young people lives as the old people with low mentality only Focusing in life where you could earn money and live a miserable life where there is no place of risk , only a life with low mentality.
When a young people want to do something why can’t they support them, only they forces them to do another thing in which they have no interest and this type of mentality killing young one life. 💬 Review💬 #thebrokenheart #namit #bookreader #bookclubsofinstagram #booksofinstagram #bookworthreading #friendship #lovewithbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CDgKz3aDQ1u/?igshid=j77uyx83mqod
