12/09 - NIMBIN/CHANNON MARKET Woke up bright and early in Nimbin and headed into town for a coffee and breakfast. Nimbin is well known as the weed capital of Australia, home of 60s/70s vibes and hippie stoners. The town was very quiet early in the morning, but I found a quote I like above the hemp embassy. The main reason the town was so quiet was that the second sunday of the month is the Channon craft market, a few km southeast of town. This was my next stop! I loved the crafts at the market, especially the candle pyramids and feather hair clips! I also got a henna tattoo, some ridiculously good prawn paella, and vegan acai granola ice cream (easy to be lactose intolerant here ^_^). After a long day of looking at wares, listening to music, and generally enjoying the vibes, I took off for Byron Bay, where I'll be staying for 3 nights. After checking into my hostel, I went next door to The Treehouse where I got THE BEST dairy free nachos I've ever had. Pulled pork, salsa, heaps of avocado, refried beans, and PINEAPPLE. Must recreate this someday. 😀 #Nimbin #channonmarkets #thechannon #hippie #granola #localfood #byronbay #pineapple #nachos (at Wake Up Hostels) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrLpgBBHjac/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=469d2wjfgfkx
