I’m crying, my head hurts... I’ve just watched The Corporation.
My head is hurting and I remind myself whenever you’ve seen, watched, read or heard something important, act on it, act straight away because the world is designed to distract you from feeling moved and empowered to move on change. Have you ever noticed at the end of something really powerful, something trivial follows... So with all the lists and notes that I made, I figured I’m gonna just put them all down here now and build on them step by step:

We need an industrial revolution that works - this one is failing and so will the era of electric. All we are going to do is rob the earth of more resources. We need to reuse what we have rather than dig up the sea bed for the minerals to make electric cars. We have no idea or I should say we have a good idea of the consequences, yet people are buying in, buying up masses of the sea bed to mine. Rebuild new with what we have. There is a place for business and industries but they are not people and should be afforded the rights of people. How can an organisation own a natural resource the the planet supplies and is a basic requirement for all the people on that corporation to survive. Are they saying that are the only ones that are allowed to survive because they can afford to? I think so...

IBM - Hitler, Microsoft - Covid. IBM computers were leased to the Germans to gather data on people, isn’t that what is happening via Microsoft now and Covid?
Call their bluff - the governments and the corporations.
How do we resist and dismantle corporations?
“Do not fear the government, work with them. You have a say and get involved in governments, but you can’t in corporations”
Governments are employed by us, we have a say - lets not take everything they say as truth - they can be manipulated, bullied, bribed. Question, act, get involved.
The more people feel love for one another the more they feel empowered to act for one another. We have to inspire - inspire one another through love to care, not just politically but caring brings about love and optimism. There is more power in positivity and love than in fear. We need to harness it.
We’re constantly being dumbed down so that we don’t rally each other to act, so that we constantly reflect on trivial matters, keep everything quick and fleeting so that it doesn’t leave a lasting impression because, a lasting impression can’t be erased, a lasting impression causes change - something like this film has had on me.
The best line I’ve heard in ages...
Russell Brands says to Joel Bakan if there was a party out there that wanted to reach the people, what kind of policies do you think they would need to have to mobilise the electorate? what would resonate with them?.
After referring to the policies of the parties and candidates of the past that have attempted to do this, Joel simply said “Jesus Christ! he had a good pitch! half of the world - treat each other fairly, look after your neighbour even you don’t know them.” I love it, I laughed and loud and so did Russell.
He’s delivery and timing at the moment was perfect and the message as simple. After all they had been talking about, it came down to something so human and basic.
Whatever party you are for, the desires are the same. He summarised in a way; if there was a party that simply said, “look, we’re going to look after you, we’ll make sure you have enough. We might make some mistakes along the way, but you’ll be alright. That would probably be enough”.
I love it. Simple, honest, achievable with heart.
