Magazine - The Correct Use Of Soap (1980). Everyone seems to pick their debut ‘Real Life’ as their best work, but I think differently. For me it’s this their third album that really captivated me. I understand that their debut is groundbreaking and all but when you discover a band 10 years after they break up you’re usually not all in shock or in awe with their music. Since then countless other bands have covered their tracks and their influences. So to me it’s not about groundbreaking sound at that time period but something more personal that gets me going. I’m a big fan and I have all first three albums but for me this one just gets me somehow much more than their great debut. Maybe the songs are more accessible or more catchy to the ears, but this album for me is a real classic! #magazine #thecorrectuseofsoap #reallife #postpunk #newwave
