Directing duo sign to production company.
Having met at Funny or Die production company which doubles up as a comedy video site, the pair joined forces and went on to write, produce and co-direct countless well-circulated videos for the website. The name The DADS stuck as a result of their early comedic success and led to their being able to continue making content with various well-established comedians. Their most notable piece was their 2014 Funny or Die, Carls Jr. Banned Super Bowl Ad spoof, although they’ve also created commercials for the likes of Google, Fiat and YouTube, among others. Besides directing, they have recently released their first short film, Ella, and also written and directed for all-female sketch show, BETCH, that’s airing on HULU, as well as a soon-to-be-released comedy series for go90.
Director signs to roster for UK representation.
Allen began his career in advertising as an editor working at a bespoke post house before branching into directing. Having always been passionate about cinema, it was a natural step for the visual director who has also delved into comedy, drama and fashion film. Allen previously launched St Luke’s in-house production arm Apostle, where he worked on some of their biggest projects while also working simultaneously with other clients outside of the agency. He has created work for the likes of very.co.uk, Pepsi Max and Strongbow, among others.
London-based production company Pulse Films has signed Philippino director Paco Raterta to its roster.
Raterta started out in the industry after winning a scholarship at Cebu’s International Academy of Film and Television. He followed this with a career as an editor, cutting commercials for top brands like Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Samsung. But it wasn’t long before Raterta moved on to directing, beginning a longstanding relationship with renowned artist David Choe. He is currently working on an experimental ongoing project for Choe that mixes art, filmmaking and music. To launch his signing, Raterta has just released a promo for Gaika’s single, Crown & Key, from which the above still was taken.
OMG THE DADS (The Flash:Duet)
So, I watched Duet last night and oh my...... Joe West and Stein are a ship. A cannon ship. And I am loving it! Like, to see that in a show like the Flash was relieving and just seeing the acceptance of the couple as Duet!Iris's dad's is wonderful. Also, why couldn't we get a duet between Duet!Cisco and Duet!Harry or HR? No, even better. Why was Tom Tom not it this? It's obvious he can sing so why wasn't he in it? Also, it would've been nice if Barry had thought of Snart, thus putting him in that world, singing a song of sorts. Probably would've been "Cold As Ice" :)
