GOING BACK TO THE DEAD THREE
(Although these characters are not mine but Wizard of the Coast’s property and I don’t own them, I’ve totally redesigned them)
Redesigns:
Idk how many of you are familiar with the Dead Three thing in Forgotten Realms’ lore, but one time I’ve mastered a Curse of Strahd campaign in which Bhaal made some apparitions and I went down a rabbit hole about these three fuckers
Bane is my favorite (although Bhaal could be a close second cause he’s so stupid he makes me laugh)
In canon, he’s described to take the form of an half orc, from time to time, so I’ve took that as a starting point and developed his looks from there
I thought that he could have been raised in a monk community (monastery?) in which he learnt strict discipline and ruthless combat and than pivoted when his shadow magic somehow awoke, granting him far more destructive power than what monk training could ever give him (i think he’s a lvl 5 monk way of the open hand and a lvl 13 shadow magic sorcerer)
Cold, calculating and merciless, there’s only one person who manages to make him snap hard and is the most annoying idiot of the dead three: Bhaal
Bhaal is def not the brains of the Three (although being smart, Bane and Myrkul are smarter) but he’s definitely the brawns
While Myrkul only fights from a distance and Bane would rather not get close but will if needed, Bhaal is the one jumping head first in combat
He takes all the punches, all the slices, and has a hella good time when he does
Loud, chaotic and annoying, he’s an unpredictable smartass, always with a quick comeback and a quicker knife to slice throats if he’s bored enough
Nonetheless, he’s a Battle Master fighter (probably coming from an army or a mercenary setting), knowing exactly where to hit to hurt as much as possible
He’s the one stealing from people out of boredom and than throwing the stolen bounty in a trash can when he’s done
Actually, boy is the sole person who can manage to make Bane snap out of annoyance (he almost made Myrkul snap too once and that became a very unpleasant evening for everyone)
Evidence of Bane/Bhaal relationship:
I actually designed (and drew) Bhaal god design way before and way more times than his mortal one so have some god Bhaal too (+bonus first Dead Three iteration)
He’s an annoying little fuck (credits to @atlantjchasappeared for Bhaal’s warlock, the one who’s being harassed)
Last and worst, here’s Myrkul
Most powerful of the Three, he’s a Lvl 20 necromancer with a superiority complex, coming from a noble family and having an angel face (up until he smiles)
He’s actually the most evil, sadistic and cruel of the three, so much even Bhaal and Bane don’t wanna piss him off, he just doesn’t look like it
Calm, soft spoken and annoyingly upstage, Myrkul is the incarnation of wolf in sheep’s clothing
He could tear those two idiots who follow him in pieces and they wouldn’t even realize it, but he needs them to become a god so he ought to bear them
