Slowly, sapphire eyes open and move to flick onto the person. Carefully she pushes herself up and she stretches. She doesn't respond to him, but she tilts her head, wings fluttering softly. She gestures at him and then at the world around; What is this place? Who is he?

"Hi, lady... there's a storm." He tapped his foot a few times then paused, face pawing? palming? "Oh, you can't hear me can you?" He pointed a claw up towards the darkening sky behind her.

She blinks and looks up and sees the darkening sky. Oh. Turning to look at him, she thinks to sign first but then pulls out a journal, writing in it and showing it to him;

'Thank you for the warning... and yes. I can read your lips but that's about it. My apologies.'

She doesn't seem to hear him, and yet she sees... paws? She looks up slowly, closing her book which happens to be on the geography of Ancient Egypt and her eyes meet his and he just tilts her head. She doesn't know what to say or do other then... stare.

A living breathing creature who looks like the ancient heirogylphs of Anubis.
