My Thing about Doomsday

I know we all like to cry about Doomsday and that’s totes legit. It’s clear those scenes impacted not only the fans, but the actors themselves and the episode is remembered as one of the saddest.

But what about Jackie?

Jackie Tyler. The single mum living on in an estate who claimed she never did anything with herself after her husband Pete died when Rose was a baby.

We all seem to glance over the fact that Jackie Tyler kicked ass that episode. She faced down Daleks, saw a woman be killed, had the pain of hearing and seeing her daughter willing to leave her forever to be with The Doctor (i like tenrose ok but put yourself in jackie’s shoes, that moment must’ve tore her up ok?)

But the best part, she was rewarded for all that badassery, and not just in that single episode, but for her whole entire self. Jackie gets to be with the one person she thought she’d never see again.

We all like to consider “Journey’s End” as a happy ending for Rose. She got to be with her love.

Well.

Doomsday was Jackie’s happy ending. and I think that should be celebrated more.
