I fell a bit behind with these, so I’m answering 5-7 in one post.
TFCSP Round One: Week Five - “Tell us about a goal you worked to achieve.”
Trying to be me. Fandoms have taken over my life. Whether I’m feeling happy or sad or upset, whatever, shows/movies/books/music(als)/etc. are my outlets through which to feel it. I’ve always been into these to some extent, but I used to get kind of embarrassed sometimes by just how much. I used to write about them in whatever school assignments I could get away with it but never really made friends through them (or true friends in general but that’s a different issue).
Now, however, almost all of my outfits are character/show themed, not always very subtly (kind of like Disneybounds but in my daily life), and fandoms have become conversation starters when I’m otherwise at a loss. The friends I have now are very dear to me, most of them I’ve met through fandoms, and they’re so much truer friendships than any I had growing up. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
I’m far more open about the things I enjoy now, and I continue to insert them into college assignments wherever possible even when they’re presentations. Two of my friends and I analyzed Frozen for a sociology paper and PowerPoint, and I used Hamilton for a current event, devoted a page of my About Me site for Web Design to talking about multiple fandoms, and created a café for Captain Swan for my other big Web Design project (partially pictured above, and the rest of it is here).
I don’t know what my life/career goal is anymore, but I will try to be me.
TFCSP Round One: Week Six - “What kind of music do you like?”
A little bit of everything. Pictured above is just some of the range of my music taste, and that’s not counting the CDs I couldn’t find or fit in the picture as well as my various Spotify playlists and iTunes downloads. I love anything from ‘50s rock'n'roll to '80s rock to '90s pop (any other BSB fans in the CS fandom?) to some country, from Disney to Broadway to Daughtry to Skillet to Tenth Avenue North, from tobyMac to Crowder to Frank Sinatra to Jason Mraz, and so on.
TFCSP Round One: Week Seven - “What three things would you want on a deserted island?”
To borrow from Jemma Simmons, the fully stocked T.A.R.D.I.S. Then a device with functioning wifi to watch Netflix, and if it’s long term then my parents (can they count as a thing?), but if it’s like a little block of “me time” then a piano so I could try to teach myself to play without disturbing anyone else with mistakes and repetition.
