Tomorrow marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and as always, we take a moment to mark the lives tragically ended by the Nazis and their collaborators. It all seems so distant, but it is still within living memory. Six million died, including 1.5 million children. Pictured is the identity tag for Annie Klapper, a 12-year-old Dutch-Jewish girl who was killed along with her family and 1350 Jews at Sobibor death camp. It was discovered recently near the crematoria. After several weeks of promoting new war comics in the store, I thought it was time to put some new books 📚 up for sale on the shelves. These books on imprisoned and persecuted people in recent history need only to be read only once and then demands to be passed on. None of these books are easy reads and I found myself having to stop for a break after several minutes of unpacking some of the stories.
