Dteam stuck in a tree. One of them two of them maybe three who knows just someone is stuck in a tree

Okay so the prompt box isn't open yet, but I saw this and I did get inspired, so we'll consider it a test run

Three teeth of a hand saw. All it takes is three teeth of a handsaw and half a second of contact to cut through your rope, that's what they always said. Of course, hearing about it and experiencing it are two completely separate things.

Sapnap couldn't even remember what he was looking at, honestly. But he had his hand saw open to start to cut into a damaged tree limb, yelled out a warning to Dream and George on the ground, and then... He didn't know. Maybe he heard a bird or something. (Or maybe he thought he saw a hornet's nest. He wasn't doing a repeat of last time; at first buzz or sight of a grey, blobby, paper nest, he was setting the canopy on fire before he'd climb up first, clients be damned.)

Next thing he knew, he heard his climbing rope snap, his weight was jolting down completely into his flipline, and he was pendulum-swinging feet first into the trunk.

That's one way to wake yourself up in the morning. He was suddenly grateful for all that safety and redundancy training.

"Shit, heads up!" He called out.

He looked down and watched his nearly brand new, beautiful, expensive, orange and blue dynamic rope drop seventy feet to the ground and coil on-top of and around his rope bag. Shit.

Somewhere, the sound of a chainsaw stopped. Below him, Dream came into view with his dumb, custom green and white saw pants that matched the rest of his hi-vis gear. His face shield was down, and he was lightly coated in saw dust. Dream looked up at Sapnap, then down at the rope bag, then back up at Sapnap.

"Dude, you good?" Was the first thing Dream said.

"Yep."

"Your rope's on the ground."

"Yeah, flipline caught me though." His voice was shakier than he expected. Sue him, he was a little spooked.

"Okay well, put your saw away and strap in with your lanyard," he turned back towards the house's driveway, as Sapnap started to do as he said. "George! Grab your gear, you're going up!"

Twenty minutes later, George was scrambling up to him even farther away from the trunk than Sapnap was because this tree didn't actually have any good unions for climbing. (In fact, he was surprised at how fast they managed to set another line at the correct height, considering.)

George paused when he got level with Sapnap, sitting back in his harness with his leg sticking straight out because of how his knee ascender connected to the rope.

"You okay?"

Sapnap nodded.

"We're gonna make fun of you for like, forever for this, you know?"

Sapnap nodded again. George grinned and continued climbing.

Context: the dteam are urban arborists a little ways into a job and Sapnap was going up to do some smaller pruning cuts. In my head, Sapnap and George are mainly climbers and Dream is mainly a rigger.

Super recognizable and not niche at all I know. I did a semester in arboriculture a couple years ago which was super fun and is why my interest was piqued. I also got stuck in a tree once, but that was when I was trying out spurs on a snag and my climbing line slipped and wasn't cut. For demonstrational purposes I have seen a line under tension get cut with a handsaw, and it barely touched it, it was so fast

Dude I’m gonna be so honest I’ve been wondering the same thing all week George had been talking about going to Florida for YEARS before he actually went he stayed in London alone and depressed because he didn’t want to jeopardize the visa his mom had to have wondered about the reality of their relationship. Especially if she watched his videos and streams she SAW how happy he was with Dream, how happy he was with his life after moving in. And if we’re being honest here George’s mom probably suspected he liked men knowing what we know now😭I’m just as if not more curious to know what Dreams mom thinks because she’s been physically there to witness a lot of it. Dream bragged and talked about George with her for years as well, and she knew how excited he was for him to come to Florida. I have a strong suspicion that the first Xmas in 2022 was very revealing in some way, and she already was supportive of Dream being queer AND teased him about dnf??💀I’m sure she’s supportive of Dream now with his partner and is happy her son’s happy but I am sooo curious to know what she saw of dnf and what she thinks of them together

THIS THIS THISSSS U READ MY MIND COMPLETELYYYY like there's so much we dont know and will never know and it kills me on the inside slightly because I hate Not knowing things 😭😭 I have a feeling that there's lots of suspicion on their side though,,,,because like what dnf have is Not normal in the slightest and I feel like theyre checked up on once or twice (or even thrice) because feelings suck and get in the way of things and ☹️ they just want their babies to be okay and want to know if things are still like That (gay) between them

im sure a lot of questions have already been answered indirectly though, they may be just as confused but atleast some questions have been answered 😭😭 especially on goms side, talking to dreams parents must have helped

A lot of people liked this one so now I'm really tempted to continue it to help me get back into the swing of writing dnf. . .I don't remember a lot of the specifics of what will happen next because I wrote this scene a while ago, but I remember enough that I could probably write some more :) I'll add it to the list!

I’ve never thought about it like that for once it’s everyone else losing their minds over controversies and fandom wars and I’ve been sitting here thinking as long as it’s not us💀💀I’m glad someone else is the sacrifice this time

When George walked in the house and smelled Dreams alpha pheromones for the first time in three months he immediately went into heat and now Dream is taking care of him

This is just speculationnn not my complete opinion just ideas theories dooming etc. But I don’t think it bothered Dream on a deep level that George was getting more independent, I imagine he rather likes George putting down roots, but it started to bother him when George stopped going out but stayed inside his room most of the time. At that point it became clear it wasn’t about going out and doing stuff so much as it was about George wanting to be on his own. I think gnf still went out and did stuff besides fishing but he obviously was at home enough for Dream to notice and think George had plenty of time to spend with them but instead he’s…playing Runescape. Eating. Sleeping. He is no longer accessible. Which ofc was a shock to him because prior George would’ve taken any opportunity to do something with Dream.(Not to mention how Sapnap and George WERE hanging out it was just Dream not there. So he clearly wasn’t locking himself up) And it’s even more damning when it’s obvious that George has been talking a lot with other friends online, old english friends at that. George has always been able to do stuff on his own even if he had to order a ride but he liked* to do stuff with Dream. He was happier having him there. I think Dream likes that George no longer has to be frustrated relying on anyone else to go places meet other people etc, but it’s killing him that George no longer feels the need to include him in what he does or where he goes and has/is choosing to do stuff alone or with other people*. And that’s obviously why Dream has been trying harder to get reactions out of him lately.

However it seems like neither of them want to be the first to cave and say “please spend time with me again I miss you” because they probably both feel like they personally haven’t done anything to make the situation worse and are kind of waiting for the other man to make a move to fix it. does this make sense or is it stupid and repetitive sorry I use your inbox to get my thoughts out ❤️‍🩹
