The way that most people are probably just seeing this as petty tumblr drama that has dragged on too long/gotten out of hand is really frustrating me. Not because it hasn't dragged on too long but because it's gone beyond tumblr drama into real harassment.

(note: This is not intended as a call-out post, thus no names are named and all personal language aims to be neutral. That being said, I believe that everything I've alluded to or claimed here can be backed up with receipts. This is an earnest expression of frustration at what I believe to have been a deeply unfair situation.)

The level of bullying from the get-go was insane. Nobody reached out to Hux about the initial post before immediately attacking them, their character, and the characters of anyone who follows them. They (group they) refused to do anything but point fingers and treat Hux defending themselves as an attack, even after they intentionally made the situation so that Hux had to defend themself (by choosing not to have a regular civil conversation first.) By making even *following Hux* into an urgent moral issue, they used other people's good intentions to run a reactionary smear campaign against Hux by continually misrepresenting and twisting their words, the content of their fics, and their behavior to make them out as a horrible person and stir up knee-jerk reactions in people.

That's intimidation. Not conversation. And I think that trying to intimidate a community into shunning an individual you and your friends dislike until they have to leave *for their own safety* is absolutely repugnant behavior.

I don't mean to drag things out or dogpile on people who are clearly already having a hard time but that's literally what they did in the first place? and I think you don't get to be outraged when you get treated the way you treat others.

It speaks volumes to the kind of people these individuals are that they would accuse Hux of intentionally sabotaging their gofundme* and implying that Hux is a bad advocate for abuse victims because of it, when these people did The Same Thing when they initially tried to deplatform Hux who was (at the time) living in their car and relying on tips to afford food.

A community isn't a friend group. There will be people within it that you don't like. That's what the block button is for. No group of individuals should be allowed to encourage harassment like has happened here. Truly bad eggs will get excluded naturally because they're assholes. Nobody deserves to be publicly targeted to be bullied and threatened out of a community for the crime of being someone you and your friends dislike. *By the time Hux had posted the screenshots in their post, the gofundme had been up for days, having already raised a considerable amount of money and had been widely reblogged.

i don’t you if you’ll take this to heart, but as someone who has been on the internet a long time, and has been on the side of discourses that you are on right now when i was much younger, i urge you to be extremely wary of adults (hux is a grown adult! please do not forget this!) who actively befriend minors and whose fanbases are predominantly minors. i don’t disagree that hux uses his fic to process his trauma but that does not mean he should actively be sharing it with you. imagine if someone that much older than you shared nsfw content with you in real life. please take a moment and think about why someone would even want you to see that kind of content let alone connect and befriend you/other users like you. please stay safe online because i know personally that you can look back on these kind of situations with so much sadness and regret.

The Huxler does not write for me. TheHuxler writes for himself, for the fandom, for whatever. He does not write for minors. That would be gross. He has never once urged me to read anything of his that was NSFW, nor has he encouraged me to read his works. Any of his works, at that.

There’s this whole stigma about befriending minors on the internet that does nothing but alienate us. It’s Hux’s choice who they become friends with, and if he chooses to befriend minors, he takes all the precautions necessary that they aren’t involved in anything NSFW.

If you read Come High Water (which is one SINGULAR fic, not 'fics') and interpreted it as "smut" aka pornography (media intended to titillate and arouse), you're irreparably fucked in the head. Sorry to break it to you.

Hux, who is openly a CSA survivor, wrote a short story which explored themes of CSA. It's a horrifying, discomforting, and occasionally downright nauseating piece of literature; which is exactly how it was written to be. Implying that the sexual assault in that story is meant to be sexualised is an absurdly bad-faith reading of the text, and reveals that either you're too immature to be reading such material, or that you're comfortable lying about its contents to continue this bullshit smear campaign against Hux.

(Which wouldn't surprise me, since you people have been lying since the beginning and saying that he wrote corrective rape porn.)

I think people should be allowed to write whatever the fuck they want. I see no issue with people processing trauma or taboo through fiction.

Hux is one of the nicest people I've ever met and is someone I consider to be a dear friend. In the time that I’ve known him, he’s done nothing but foster and embolden the creativity of the people around him. Since you're asking, that is the kind of friend I keep around, yes.

What are you doing to encourage people to make art? All you seem to do is repress and police it. That's not the kind of attitude that keeps a fandom alive.

If you feel so strongly that you're in the moral right then why don't you come off anon? Say it with your chest or don't say it at all.

considering that you guys consider being called an antisemite to be an insult rather than an actual criticism of one's character is concerning. the reason hux was called an antisemite was because of his antisemitic treatment and language towards jewish people, not just as a fun word to call him.

I'm sure you won't believe me, but everything hux is posting and any screenshots he may be sharing are almost entirely fake. hux has a history of doctoring screenshots in order to make things appear his way. his most recent post is incoherent rambling, accusing someone who was not even involved until like a day ago of being a groomer. his behavior is concerning. you should be concerned for the well-being of your friend. paranoid thinking and posting of this nature is not normal. either he knows that what he's saying is entirely false, or he truly believes it to be true. either way, the story you are receiving from him is one rife with bias and lies.

Of course being called an "antisemite" is a criticism. To anyone. But hux had no reason to be called one. I believe that name-calling comes from their John Lennon character study, Boil My Brain in Lye, with following quote,

"He’s in John’s face, crowding him, and all John can see is Brian—the stupid uncombed hair and the bulbous jew nose and the shadow of his unshaven jaw, and he reaches out—he reaches out, and shoves his hand up under Brian’s robe—mashes his hand against the flacid, dangling warmth of him and twists. "

If you even bothered to read the work, you'd know that is is all in the perspective of John Lennon. If you're referring to another instance, let me know.

And, no, I am not going to believe that everything that Hux claims is fake- seeing as though I don't have any evidence pointing towards that conclusion, and you have provided with me none as well. What friend are you talking about that I should ne concerned for?

Though I don't understand the claim that there was grooming involved, I will look deeper into that- as it is a serious claim.

Someone here posted about concerns regarding various people in the Beatles fandom (including a major informational mclennon blog) associating with someone who writes child rape fics about a REAL kid, and this fandom's fantastic response was that they weren't "fics" (plural)—it was just a single "fic" (singular)
