@hybristophilica dhgkgkdkf thank you for these tags they made me grin so wide I WANNA WRITE THIS REALLY BADLY THE MORE I THINK ABOUT IT. Once March is over and I'm done all my papers I might start on it, or at least start the research and outline because I can't get that one scene out of my head dhgjgfshsj
I was talking to a friend and there's been some developments (pls excuse my rambling, I'm copying from discord)
> I think that instead of having Kagami beat Aomine, how about the idea that Kagami enters it because he wants to show Aomine everything that he’s taught him, and then Kagami wins in this grand gesture, and Aomine has some reignition of his dance feelings because “Wow, look how this guy takes my lessons and makes them his own. He’s the best!”
The first time Kagami sees Aomine dance it's when they're younger, and he never caught his name but he was amazing, and inspired him to dance, and he met Himuro through dance ,had the fall out and was told he was just not feeling the music, his moves too stiff and technical, because Kagami rushed through to learn how to dance bc the guy he saw was amazing, and he wanted to compete against him so he had to learn quick, but in the time he was going all of this, he sort of lost track of Aomine and Aomine had stopped dancing because it got boring and unchallenging, until Kagami comes around and at first, its Aomine looking down on Kagami, like your dance is nothing, it'll never beat anyone etc, and through that he ends up teaching Kagami without even knowing because he wants to learn, because he's in awe of Aomine's dance form unlike others who don't even call it that or smth.
Aomine used to be a ballet dancer too, but he wanted to learn break dance. He knows a thing or two about dance types, about losing yourself in the music. Imagine Kagami hating it at first, because it's Aomine showing him how to be more flexible, lithe, fluid "this isn't break dancing, Aomine, I want to learn how to dance like you." and aomine's like, "this is how I dance, you idiot." And he grabs Kagami, pulls him in so that his body is flush against the other's, they're breathing the same air. Kagami's eyes are wide in protest, but Aomine rests a hand on the back of his neck, and the around Kagami's waist, rests his forehead against Kagami's and says, "now shut up and dance with me". Then it gets so charged that they end up going upstairs (Aomine lives above a dance studio) and mess around to some slow jams.
And after this... something happens between them (because I need some climax, I need some ANGST), some kind of mixed signals/miscommunication and there's some sort of betrayal or "this is not how I feel about you" (even tho it is and they're both LIARS) but it's enough to make them separate. And after some time then Aomine hears about Kagami competiting and he goes to watch and that's when he sees that kagami using his moves but incorporating himself into it too, and it's like he's watching them dance together on stage
