It's been a while to say the least. I'm not doing anything this weekend, just got off a night shift and am staying up all day so sleep deprived. For some reason that is when my fan fiction ideas come to be. It's been so long I can't even remember how to format on here - or what a oneshot or drabble is so bear with me if this isn't quite right! Just thought some people might appreciate this - maybe?
I won't tag anyone because it's been so long half the people probably don't even care or aren't on here anymore!
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
"Hold my hand."
"Hm?" Loki glanced up from the book open on his lap.
"Hold my hand." You repeated shaking your outstretched hand at where he sat on the sofa in the living quarters of the tower.
"Excuse me?" Loki asked, quirking an eyebrow at you and glancing between your serious face and offered hand.
"Hold my hand." You urged once again.
"And why would I do that?" Loki queried with a frown that suggested he thought the idea rather repulsive.
"Just do it."
Loki continued to frown but now lifted his hand slightly, hesitated, then finally reached out to you. He tensed when you touched, but then relaxed when nothing happened, his face returning to his usual bored expression. "Now what?"
A wide smile spread across your face. "Nothing." You grinned, "But it didn't kill you did it?"
Loki scowled, immediately dropping your hand and returning his eyes to his book dismissively.
You continued to grin as you turned to leave, "Human touch," You called over your shoulder on your way out, "All I'm saying - it's not that bad!" You shrugged, your back to him as you sauntered out of the room.
Loki made no comment, seeming to ignore you, yet unable to help glancing up at the empty doorway once you'd left, baffled by your weird behavior.
Loki Laufeyson x Reader - All Coming Back to Me - Part 2
So.... It's been a long time....
Sorry I haven't been writing in a long time, I can't even guarantee I'm back, or - more importantly - that my writing will be any good anymore!
I want to start writing again however, and I think Fan Fiction is a good place to practice, so I guess if you have any requests fire them at me and I'll see what I can do. Might not be as quick/as good as I use to be because I'm rusty and I want to dedicate some time to some original fiction too.
However, I did manage to write a small part to this series I started... It is only short and I haven't actually edited it, so I apologise if there's many mistakes, I just wanted to get something out there to shake off the cobwebs!
The characters might not be great - I obviously haven't been writing them for ages! - and I literally just wrote this so I can't say it'll be any good story-wise either...
Let me know what you think anyway!

You had needed a change and New York certainly was it, you thought as you gazed out from the balcony over the city below. The wind whipped coolly at your shoulders, but you welcomed the cold reminding of you the home you had left for here. Permanently? You weren’t sure. At least you head didn’t hurt here. Your heart not ache for something else.
Here wasn’t home. You knew that. No city could be, you enjoyed greenery too much.
You sighed out loud, rubbing the goose bumps on your exposed arms. Movement out of the corner of your eye made you turn as someone entered the living space behind you through the glass doors. Barton raised his hand in greeting to you as he moved through to the kitchen. You smiled pleasantly back, lifting your hand off your arm briefly to return his gesture.
You glanced once more out at the overcast city sky then ventured back inside, the warmth immediately making your skin tingle pleasantly.
“Coffee?” Barton called from the kitchen, noticing your entrance.
“Tea, if that’s ok.” You replied with an apologetic smile
“Of course.” He smirked, catching your anxiety and trying to put you at ease.
You wandered a few paces as you thought over your words. “Have you seen, Thor?” You eventually called, voice cracking slightly and you flinched silently in embarrassment.
If Barton noticed, he ignored it. “He’s out bringing in trouble.” He answered, turning now to place too steaming mugs on the kitchen’s breakfast bar. You frowned. Barton raised an eyebrow, then smirked. “His brother.” He clarified.
Of course, you thought, wrapping your hands around your mug.
“Should be back any moment though.” Barton reassured you, monitoring your expression. You nodded in thought, eyes on the liquid steaming calmly between your hands. “You know him?” Barton ventured after a moment.
“Hm?” You glanced up, having been lost in thought, though you couldn’t have said what that thought had been about.
Barton’s eyes crinkled with a teasing, but friendly, smirk, “Do you know Loki?” He repeated patiently, “You seem pretty close with Thor.”
You felt an odd ache in your forehead. It wasn’t a sharp pain like a headache, but it was an odd discomfort. It then vanished as soon as it had come. You lifted your hand to rub the spot, but the pain did not return. You frowned, but then shook your head, offering a smile to Barton’s concerned look. “Slight head ache.” You explained, then nodded, “Yes, I would say I am reasonably close with Thor, I must admit I feel like I’ve known him since we were only children.” So how did I not know he had a brother? “But I have never met Loki.” You confessed, bringing the tea up to your lips, “I didn’t even know he had a brother.” You said taking a sip.
Barton frowned slightly, seemingly as confused as you. “Well if I were you I tried to miss him again, he isn’t the best guy to hang out with.” He muttered, swing his own coffee cup up to take a drink.
“Why?” You frowned, intrigued.
“He isn’t much like Thor… Except the powers.” Barton conceded, “Their personalities are quite different. Personally I’ve had a run in or two with him. Don’t wish to relive it.” He admitted.
At that moment an intercom beeped and Tony Starks voice filled the room, “Point breaks back. Get yourselves ready.” There was a pause. “And despite what Thor said I’m still gonna be packing a bit of wallop up my sleeve just in case - anyone else is welcome to join me.”
The intercom shut off.
“Well,” Barton sighed, moving out of the kitchen and into the living space with you, “if you don’t mind me, that’s my cue to get as far away as possible.” He smirked, though the humour didn’t breach his stony eyes this time. “Good luck.” He muttered, patting you upper arm as he moved past you, disappearing out into the corridor beyond.
You frowned after him, confused how a person could be that bad you had to hide from them. You perched on the nearest bar stool and waited.
“Brother!” Thor grabbed his brother’s arm as he lunged forward before the bright light of the rainbow bridge had completely vanished.
“She’s here isn’t she? Where is she?” Loki demanded almost desperately, eyes darting over the open landing pad at the top of the Avengers Tower.
“Hello to you too, reindeer games.” Tony greeted dryly and Loki turned to face him, his expression clouding with annoyance.
“Where is she?” Loki demanded again, a bite to his tone now.
“Brother, relax.” Thor soothed, squeezing Loki’s shoulder reassuringly, “She’s not here right now.”
“Not here?!” Loki snarled, turning on Thor, “You told me-“
“She is with Agent Romanoff.” Thor interrupted calmly, dropping his hand from Loki’s shoulder.
Loki’s eyes flickered with relief momentarily, “Well, where?”
“Out.” Thor shrugged.
“Why?!”
“For exactly this reason, brother.” Thor stated, gesturing at up and down his brother. Loki shook his head, scowling incredulously. “Loki, she doesn’t know who you are, you’ll scare her.” Thor explained.
“Hang on, back up –“ Tony began, stepping forward, confused.
“She’ll know me the minute she sees me.” Loki stated, brushing off Thor’s concerns.
“I wouldn’t be so sure brother.”
“Woah,” Tony interrupted, stepping forward again, holding a hand up to get them to stop, “care to fill in the rest of the class, kids?” Tony asked, waving his hand in a circle to include himself and the two that lingered behind him. Loki glared down at Stark, but the man didn’t seem to care. Thor glanced around the rest of the landing pad at the few other team members that had dared to greet him on his return with his brother. Steve Rogers and Bruce Banner still stood back watching his brother’s entrance with a mixture of hesitancy and bewilderment.
“My brother has a history with [Y/N].” Thor admitted, addressing the others, “However she has no memory of this history.” Thor glanced at his brother. Loki’s enthusiasm seemed to faltered and he now moved away from his brothers gaze, heading towards the edge of the landing pad, staring blindly at the scenery beyond.
“What do you mean she has no memory?” Tony frowned, also glancing towards Loki’s back.
“Something happened a long time ago. We don’t know what.” He confessed. “Neither I nor Loki were there.” Loki seemed to flinch at that. “When I returned she spoke to me as if nothing had changed…” Thor trailed off, glancing over at this brother’s now dejected-looking figure. “Except she knew nothing of my brother, nor anything he had ever done.”
“A sort of memory loss?” Rogers frowned.
“A very specific one.” Banner added. “Any ideas what caused it?”
Thor shook his head.
“Hang on, is that the only reason he’s here?” Stark frowned, jutting a finger over at Loki whose back visibility stiffened at the question.
Thor looked back to his brother, pity in his eyes. ”It is what convinced him.” He confessed with a nod, then turned his head back to the others, “But I truly mean for this to be a rehabilitation for him. I assure you he has changed.”
No one seemed convinced.
There was a moment’s pause before Loki turned. “Well, thank you all for your strong vote of confidence.” He sneered dryly at the team, “Now I’ve had my very warm welcome, might I be shown to my new room?”
“Oh course, brother.” Thor clapped him on the back and Loki scowled.
“Just don’t get too comfortable.” Tony muttered, turning back to the tower’s entrance.
Loki Laufeyson x Reader - All Coming Back to Me - Part 1
So I've been an idiot and started a new series. Based off a song again because that's where I get all my inspiration from and I feel emotions really well through songs - especially when played particularly loud through my headphones.
So here's part 1. Part 2 probably won't be available till late next week as I have some uni work due in Tuesday that needs priority!
Hope you like it - I'm just trying to get into the habit of writing something, but i am a bit rusty so bear with me!

“So, is there a Mr [L/N]?” Tony asked, getting to his feet and heading to the bar.
You snorted incredulously, “Definitely not.”
“Boyfriend? Girlfriend?”
You smirked weakly, shaking your head as you took a sip of your drink.
“So, you’re a one-night stand kinda girl?” Tony asked, turning back to you, “That’s cool.” He nodded, pouring himself another drink.
“I’m a nothing ‘kinda girl’.”
“Nothing?”
“It’s not my thing.” You shrugged.
“’Not your’ –“ Tony looked around for help, but everyone just watched vaguely amused at his disbelief. “Does no one else find that strange?” He gestured at the rest of the Avengers as he made his way back to his chair, his back to you. Romanoff just shrugged and the others seated around the large living room just glanced indifferently at one another.
Tony sighed dramatically.
“Why do you care so, Stark?” Thor chuckled, “Anyone with heart ache is unlikely to date.” He stated, gesturing his beer towards you. You felt your heart drop.
This piqued Tony’s interest, “Heartache?” he repeated, turning back to you with a raised eyebrow. You tried to swallow discreetly so as not to encourage him.
“Tony –“ Steve warned, not moving but his tone was stern.
Tony ignored him, “Who broke your heart, doll?” He asked, taking a sip of his drink.
You shrugged without care, “It was a long time ago.”
Tony narrowed his eyes at you suspiciously, “So how come you’re not dating?”
“Tony.” Steve warned again, now leaning forward.
“I’m just saying, there’s plenty of strapping young men in this room who are single,” He explained feigning innocence as he gestured around the room, “why shouldn’t a beautiful young lady try her hand?”
You made a show of looking around the room at each of the boys then shook your head, “Hm, no thanks.” You smirked and Steve winked at you whilst Thor feigned hurt.
“Harsh.” Tony pointed at you with the hand that held his drink, “But I like that.” He admitted with a tilt of his head before flopping back down into his seat. “So, who’s up for a game of who can kick whose ass?” He suggested to the room.
The room broke out into conversation then, some joining straight in with the game, others refusing to play yet somehow getting dragged into it. You just let out a quiet sigh of relief that the attention was off you and your love life.
You watched the activities of the rest of the night mainly from a far, quite content to sit back and let everyone else enjoy themselves. You liked everyone and their company, but you were still new here and didn’t always feel able to join in their inner circle - especially because you didn’t want people like Tony asking you uncomfortable questions.
“Right, I’m calling it a night.” Barton declared, pushing himself to his feet.
“I agree.” Nodded Thor, finishing its drink by downing it. “Before I leave, I must remind you all that I have a guest arriving tomorrow.” He smiled.
You frowned at this, unaware and glanced at the others. No one seemed confused like you, but no one seemed overly happy.
“Just keep him away from me if you don’t mind.” Barton muttered before heading out the door. Thor raised his eyebrows but didn’t say anything, turning back to the rest of the group. “You’re definitely sure about this, Pointbreak?”
“Yes, ‘Metal man’,” Thor quipped back, “I give you my word that he has changed. This will be a rehabilitation back to the world.”
“Yeah, the world he almost destroyed.” Romanoff muttered.
Thor frowned slightly, “I will be held accountable for any of his actions, I assure you.”
“We’ll see.” Tony muttered, getting to his feet and bidding the room goodnight. The others followed on behind, Steve clapping Thor on the shoulder and assuring him it would be alright. You and Thor were left in the room alone and you offered him a small smile as you stood up. He returned the smile, the wide, familiar beam warm and comforting after the somewhat awkward evening.
“Goodnight, [Y/N].” Thor smiled back, bobbing his head in farewell as he too headed for the door.
“Goodnight.” You nodded back, then hesitated, “Uh – Thor?” The God paused in the doorway, glancing back. “Who is this your guest that you have coming tomorrow? How come I haven’t heard anything about it?”
Thor grinned widely at you, “My brother is coming.”
You frowned, unaware that he had a brother and wondered if you truly knew the man before you as well as you thought you did. “How did I not know you had a brother?”
“Maybe you just chose to forget.” Thor shrugged simply, but there seemed to be a twinkle of something in his eye.
You frowned at this, unsure what he meant by it, “Does no one like him, then?” You asked, referring to the others’ reactions a moment ago.
“He has a history.” Thor confessed, with a reluctant bob of his head, then his eyes seemed to lock onto yours, “But I truly believe he has changed,” He enthused, his face and tone completely serious for a rare moment “And I simply wish everyone to give him another chance.”
You were taken aback by his steely gaze and imploring eyes that seemed to bore into yours. You had never met this man he was talking about, so why did Thor seem to make out like you were the one that needed convincing? You nodded in understanding despite your confusion, “I’m sure it is only your belief that matters to him,” you smiled kindly, “But, for you Thor, I promise to treat him with complete open mindedness.”
“Thank you, [Y/N],” Thor smiled, “I am grateful for your kind heart.” He nodded his head again and bid you goodnight once more before heading to his room. You put your glass away and headed to your own room.
Imagine: Lying in bed with Loki and being self conscious as he runs his hands over you
You awoke to the soft brush of cold fingertips on your bare shoulder, trailing light, twisting paths along your skin and down your arm whilst Loki’s breath breezed along the top of your head and the weight of his pressed against your back.
You tried not to recoil as his fingers brushed along the stretch marks of your inner arm - knowing he would feel them even if he couldn’t see them - then couldn’t help but tense as his touched moved round your arm to the expanse of spots that graced your skin.
He noticed the flexion in your muscles and his touch lingered for a moment as though question. “I’m have a lot of spots.” You murmured apologetically, not turning around.
Loki pressed a kiss onto the top of your head and you felt his lips move into his charming smirk as his fingers began to roam again, slipping down your forearm in a teasing, twisting path that brought goosebumps rising to your skin.
He reached your wrist now, drawing lines down the back of your hand where it lay on the bed sheets, following the bones to your knuckles and then on up to your fingers. Running repeatedly over the dry skin at the joints. “I’m sorry, I think its stress.” You apologised again, not realising you had been struggling to breathe until you found you had little air in your lungs to speak.
You heard him that time, a light, quiet chuckle above you, and you made no protest as he gently flipped your hand over, now beginning to the lines on your palm, circling the calluses at the bottom of your fingers. “They’re from training.” You mumbled regretfully.
His light laugh blew through your hair again as you now watched his large hand slip into your small one, his long fingers interlacing with your tiny ones. “My love,” He hummed with humor, “You need not apologise nor try to justify every part of yourself that you naively perceived flawed.” He chuckled, now pulling your hand up to himself and placing a gentle, doting kiss to the back of your hand. “Every inch of you is perfection.” He assured you, tugging gently at your hand when you made no sound, and you reluctantly turned your head back to meet his eyes, only for the trickster to captured your lips in a sincere and loving kiss.
Ok guys! This is the first time I’ve ever written Thor as a full on character, so I apologise if it’s a bit ooc!

Pepper Potts groaned from where she stood by the bar. “Thor,” She called back to where he was sat with you and Clint Barton on the sofas, attention on the news channel. “Your hammer is on my paperwork again.” She pointed out.
Thor glanced over, “Opps, sorry!” He grimaced in apology, pushing himself quickly to his feet from the cushion next to you.
“Why do you still have papers?” You asked, glancing briefly after Thor. “I thought Stark upgraded everything in this place that didn’t have a pulse?” You smirked, turning to where Tony sat behind Pepper at the bar.
“Miss Potts here doesn’t trust my security system apparently.” Tony informed you.
“I’m just saying, you can’t hack paper.” Pepper sighed in exasperation, apparently having had this argument numerous times before “Sue me!”
You held your hands up in surrender, now returning your attention back to the large screen where a woman had appeared, the weather forecast displayed behind her. This, apparently, didn’t interest Clint though. “Hey [Y/N],” He grinned, leaning towards you slightly in his armchair, “What’s it called again?”
You scowled, rolling your eyes at the TV, not needing to ask what the agent was referring to and deciding not to let yourself fall victim to his teasing by giving him an answer. Unfortunately, though, Thor had overheard Barton’s question and now paused, his interest piqued as he turned back to you in question. “What’s this?”
You felt your cheeks heat up under gaze eyes, “It’s nothing.” You mumbled embarrassedly.
Thor clearly wasn’t content with this as an answer and now looked to Clint to see what he was missing. “[Y/N] can’t say the name of your hammer.” Clint grinned.
“Really?” Thor asked, glancing back to you, chuckling at the deadly glare you now aimed at the agent. “Well, I do believe a lot of Midgardians struggled with the pronunciation,” He pointed out, then turned back to where the hammer still sat – Pepper still waiting rather impatiently beside it. Thor gave her a rueful smile before lifting it with ease, flipping it carelessly in the air before catching the leather handle again. “But I must confess,” He said, glancing up from the weapon back to you, “I am intrigued to see how you try and say it…” He teased with a wide grin.
Your cheeks seem to burn even hotter as you felt everyone’s eyes on you. “I – uh – “ You stuttered, dropping your head as you cleared your throat and rubbed the back of your neck anxiously. You really didn’t want to, but you didn’t think you had much of a choice. Maybe you’d finally be able to? “Mu – muny – munyer –“ You mumbled gently, your voice getting quieter and then trailing off as you how hopeless your attempts were.
“Manure?” Tony suggested from where he sat, and you felt your heart drop in humiliation. Thor was clearly trying hard not to laugh but failing in his attempt to keep the grin off his face as Clint joined Tony in merciless laughter.
You tried to ignore it, to tune them out as you turned your attention back to the TV screen, but it was difficult. Thor noticed the dejected expression on your face though, and immediately sobered up. “Honestly, [Y/N], it is difficult for most Midgardians to say.” He insisted in an attempt to comfort you. “Perhaps it just requires some practise – maybe I can teach you?”
His kindness only made to heighten your embarrassment – and your blushing – over the situation, unable to believe you couldn’t pronounce a simple word. “Oh, I’ve tried, pal,” Clint informed him, “She’s unteachable.” Thor looked to you, expecting you to angrily protest this judgement, but you didn’t have anything to say– it was true after all – so you just kept your head down, shrugging in defeat.
“Do you want to know what she calls it instead?” Clint mused.
“Don’t you think you’ve already done enough?” You demanded almost hysterically at the agent, finally snapping. Everyone blinked at your outburst in surprise, but you folded your arms and moodily turned away from Clint. “Sorry.” You muttered sullenly after a brief pregnant pause.
At that point, it seemed an unspoken unanimous decision to drop the subject, and the conversation swiftly moved on until you found yourself relaxing again as though nothing had happened.
That was, until the end of the evening when most of the inhabitants of the Avenger’s compound had come and gone for the night, leaving only you, Thor and Steve Rogers in the communal room.
Steve now stood up, stating he was going for the night with the excuse of early training the following morning. You wished him a good evening, then - after stifling a yawn - decided that you also ought to head for your own bed.
Thor – who had long since returned to the seat beside you on the sofa – didn’t seem to show any signs of tiring however, still engrossed in the movie that had been thrown on as background noise just over an hour ago.
You now glanced over at him, shooting him a small, forced smile. The topic of conversation may have moved on, but that didn’t stop the very sight of the god provoking an almost painful recall of the earlier events in your mind. You hoped your expression was explanation enough as to your departure and proceeded to then make movements as to get up.
That was, until you felt the edge of your hoody catch on something.
You glanced down in confusion to see what was holding you back, surprised to see that it was in fact Thor’s hammer – sat between the two of you where he’d casually placed it after retrieving it from Pepper – that was trapping the very bottom of your hoody in a rather immovable way.
You silently cursed, then - keeping your eyes on the tool out of yet even more embarrassment - awkwardly cleared your throat in an attempt to catch Thor’s attention. You honestly just really wanted out of this room and out of the God’s presence right now. “Could you – uh – could you move…” You gestured vaguely at the hammer, “Could you move mew-mew here?” You finally managed out, copping out on your attempt to try the name again and instead automatically settling on the nickname you often called the hammer in your own head.
The minute you realised you’d actually said it out loud though – and to Thor – however, you felt your heart drop through your chest and your cheeks flush ridiculously.
“Wait,” Thor chortled, “What did you just say?”
“I asked if you could move the hammer…” You mumbled in a desperate attempt to hide your slip up.
“Oh I heard that,” He chuckled, “But what did you call it?”
You chewed your bottom lip desperately, still yet to look up at the god’s humoured face but knowing you’d now backed yourself into a corner you couldn’t see a way out of. You supposed it was time to knock the final nail into your coffin. “Mew Mew.” You muttered at your knees, fingers digging subconsciously into the sofa either side of you in your discomfort.
Thor threw back his head in laughter and you risked a glance up through your lashes at him. “I think that is possibly the cutest thing you’ve ever said!” He declared
“Well that can’t exactly be hard.” You mumbled red-faced.
“On the contrary,” Thor grinned humorously, “I find nearly everything you say cute.”
“Great, now I sound like a 3 year old…” You muttered, rolling your eyes.
“I assure you, you definitely are not...” He remarked with a snicker, casting his eyes up and down where you sat appreciatively. You caught this.
“Stop it.” You scowled playfully, swatting your hand in the air at him as a new blush heated more than just your cheeks this time. “Just move this thing, please.” You gestured back down to where the hammer still trapped you in place.
“And lose the sight of your beautiful blushes?” Thor teased innocently “Now why would I do that?”
“Thor.” You whined childishly, though you couldn’t help the smirk pulling at the corners of your mouth at his cheesy grin. “Just let me up!”
“As you command.” He resigned with a shrug, now lifting the hammer.
You were almost surprised and – you had to confess – disappointed, when you found yourself free, but you hid it, nodding smartly to Thor in thanks before pushing yourself to your feet. However, you did not immediately wish Thor a good night and move to the door, instead you paused where you stood.
“Something the matter?” Thor asked in concern as he now leant forward next to you to drop his hammer onto the coffee table.
“Uh – no –“ You said quickly, glancing around and turning on the spot. “I’m – uh – I’m just checking I’ve – uh - got everything.” You lied lamely.
“I believe you do.” Thor informed you, though he didn’t bother to look, his eyes only on you.
“Right...” You murmured, still lingering, though looking anywhere but at Thor, unable to meet his eyes. Curse the god and his ability to turn you into a dithering idiot just by one look. If anyone else had raked their eyes over you like he had you would have had the urge to punch them and leave, not blither like a fool praying for more.
“Are you retiring?” Thor jogged you from your mind.
“Uh – yes?” You tried, not sounding at all certain and having lost all sense of your previous tiredness.
“You don’t have to, you know?” Thor smirked at your peculiar behaviour, leaning back into the sofa again now and swinging one long arm over the top of the cushion where you had sat a moment ago.
You frowned at him slightly, “And what happens if I stay?” You tried carefully.
“Well, we finish watching the movie.” He told you harmlessly, gesturing past you to the screen where you had almost forgotten the film was still playing.
“Right.” You nodded, cursing yourself for your idiocy. Thor didn’t want anything more, you were just feeling particularly alone perhaps – and maybe hormonal? Yes. And tired. All that coupled together just meant you were seeing things that weren’t there and reading into things that didn’t matter. “Yeah, ok.” You finally agreed, sitting back down in your previous seat.
“Not tired anymore then?” Thor asked pleasantly. You noted he hadn’t moved his arm from behind you, but you quickly beat down that thought. He didn’t need to. It meant nothing.
“Uh no - not anymore.” You answered, your voice croaking slightly, and you closed your eyes in embarrassment, honestly wanting the sofa to swallow you. Thor just smirked though, making no comment.
You managed to last about five minutes - in which you paid no attention to the movie – uncomfortably tense and highly aware of Thor’s arm behind you and every slight movement he made. Finally, you snapped, tilting your head slightly towards him. “Did you really mean what you said – that you think I’m cute?” You frowned.
He raised his eyebrows, clearly having been waiting for you to say something, but surprised when that the question you asked. “Without a doubt.” He answered honestly, and you felt your cheeks warm, your heart beating faster for no reason as you looked away for a moment.
“Thor I –“ You started as you turned back to him. But that was all you managed before his lips were on yours. The kiss was firm and unquestionable, Thor’s free hand coming up to cup your cheek, but there was nothing demanding in it and at first you were so surprised that you could do nothing but sit there. When you felt Thor begin to pull away though you seemed to remember yourself, leaning forward after him to return the kiss. Your response encouraged the God, his grip on your cheek tightening slightly as he now tipped your head up for a better angle, deepening the kiss.
You welcomingly parted your lips, instinctively moving your hands forward to his chest, curling your fingers into his linen shirt and his solid muscles underneath. ‘God’ You thought to yourself, then realising that you in fact were with a God.
You pulled back for air then, reluctantly releasing your fingers. What were you doing? You thought madly, ducking your head as you tried to steady you breathing again. When you went to glance back up to Thor – ready to question him over exactly what had just happened – though, his face was closer than you remember, his eyes two warm pools of intense blue, that you completely forgot your need for words or oxygen.
You quickly cast your eyes out into the room, trying to drag up some form of coherent sentence. Your eyes landed on the hammer still sat on the table. “God, I feel like its watching and judging me.” You mumbled under your breath without really thinking.
“Then let’s give it a show…” Thor growled next to you and you glanced back at him in surprise, only for him to capture your lips again. The next thing you knew, Thor’s hands were on slipping down your legs to your ankles and tugging you down him, so you now lay flat on your back on the sofa beneath him. You were quick to get lost in the kiss again, harder to distract yourself back to the reality of the situation when all you see, smell and taste was Thor. Your hand sought out again desperately, roaming up his chest to his shoulders and through his hair, tangling within the strands as you held him to you.
You were lost in the kiss – the movements and his sweet taste of something like whiskey – that you jumped when you felt his hand on your stomach pulling the edge of your t-shirt up. You were quick to follow suit though, disentangling your fingers from his hair to reach for his own shirt. The two of you broke away from each other, only to fling the garments away before you hungrily sought each other again.
This time, Thor’s lips went to your collar bone and throat, paying attention to the sensitive skin there till you were gasping for breath and fighting the urge to moan. You made the most of what you had wished for earlier, running your hands up his now-exposed chest, feeling every hard, defined edge of every muscle, enjoying them flexing beneath your teasingly slow exploration.
Thor began to work his mouth down your body to the valley of your breasts, still held enclosed in your bra. One simple pull from his hands, however, snapped the material easily and you watched too as that was lost – thrown into the room.
“Wait, stop!” You gasped, now turning your eyes back to Thor and closing them at the wave of pleasure as his lips now found one of your taunt nipples. “I can’t!” You tried again, your voice strangled, “You’re – you’re Asgardian!” Thor just hummed against you, flicking his tongue against your bud and you bit your lip hard, sure you would draw blood if he didn’t stop soon, the sensation of his tongue and the vibrations so tormenting and travelling straight down to between your legs. But that only served to remind you – “I’m just human!” You forced out between your teeth.
Thor didn’t stop at this, but he now moved his mouth to the slope of your breast, kissing it tenderly. “I don’t see how that matters…” He mused against you, his breath fanning across your skin.
“I-I beg to differ.” You croaked, trying to remain strong though his touches were quickly making you forget your argument.
“Then beg.” Thor growled playfully, now slipping down your body his lips trailing down your stomach. You were quick to forget your protests then, his fingers now seeking and easily dealing with the buttons of your jeans that blocked his path before he then pressed his mouth to the soft flesh above the edge of your underwear. You could already feel your fingers curling hopeless into the cushions beneath you at what his mouth silently promised.
You were surprised then, though, when Thor now glanced up to meet your gaze, his eyes blue, clear and honest – apparently thinking far more clearly than you were. “Tell me truthfully,” He rumbled, “that you do not want this, and I shall stop.” He assured you gently, “But if it is fear of my strength I assure you that I shall never harm you.”
“I’m not – it’s not - it’s not your strength,” You stammered nervously, “I’m just – I’m just worried I’ll – I’ll disappoint you because, well, I’m just – I’m just a –“
“Human.” He finished for you, quirking a brow in question. “Well, perhaps that is why you cannot understand my love for you.” He murmured, crawling up you again and now placing a soft kiss to your lips.
You pulled back slightly after a moment and Thor rested his forehead on yours. “You love me?” You mumbled, glancing up at him, stunned.
“Undeniably.” He murmured down at you. Your heart didn’t seem to know what to do, faltering one minute, only to then beat out of control as Thor pressed his lips back to yours again.
It started soft and slow again, his mouth molding to yours and you parted your lips as your hands went to cup his face. You felt the heat between the two of you seem to pick up again then, though could sense something still tender in Thor’s touches as his hands now began to roam your body again. You did the same this time, letting your hands fall down his throat to his chest before running them down his sides to his waist.
Thor pulled away from you then though, grinning when you pouted, knowing where your hands would have gone next. “Soon, trust me.” He growled, bowing to press a kiss between your breasts, “But your beauty is already challenge enough,” He mused against your skin. “I am certain that your touch would be too much…” He growled and now slipped a hand down your body, not hesitating this time as his fingers slipped beneath the thin material of your panties. “And I want to worship you first…” He rumbled, and you blushed hotly at his words, jumping slightly as he stroked a long finger across the sensitive nerves. You bit back a groan, closing your eyes at the sensations Thor now elicited in you from his slow strokes, feeling his intense gaze on your face, watching the pleasure flicker across your features.
You felt your hips buck up as his fingers moved even further, slipping them into you for a moment, and you only just managed to catch the moan as it threatened to escape your throat. You could almost sense Thor grinning at your reaction without needing to open your eyes, enjoying your struggles to hold yourself back as you were only too aware you were still in the communal room – even if it was late.
Thor’s strokes became faster and you gasped at the pressure building in your lower stomach. God, you wanted him to keep going, but you wanted – needed - something more. “Thor.” You gasped, clenching your thighs against his hand.
Despite your inability to say more than his name, Thor seemed to perfectly understand what you were begging for, and his hand slipped from you now – much to your body’s disappointment. The next thing you knew, your trousers were gone, Thor having ripped them off your legs and in the back of your mind, a small voice remarked that he must surely have ripped them.
Not that you cared.
Your underwear, he definitely spared no care over, easily snapping the flimsy material and you made no protest over it - only glad that the barrier between you and him were gone. You felt the cool air on your heat for only a moment before Thor’s mouth was on you, the bristle-like hairs on his jaw scratching against your inner thigh.
You moaned again, muffling it only with your hand, biting into the skin of your palm as your hips arched up into his lips. You felt him smirk against you, using his hands to hold your hips down as he continued his slow torture on you. Your free hand went to the back of Thor’s head now, meaning to pull him away in an attempt to stop the powerful tormenting waves of pleasure that ran through you, but instead you found your fingers curling into his hair, holding him in place. Thor shifted his hands so only one was needed to hold you still, the other now moving back to your clit, his thumb rubbing fast circles over the bundle of nerves as his tongue worked deeper.
You gritted your teeth, biting hard on your hand as you suddenly couldn’t hold off any longer, feeling your muscles clench in your bliss. Thor continued his movements as you rode out your pleasure and you whined as he finally pulled back from you, his lips glistening as he trailed kisses down the inside of your thighs.
“You know, I may have to correct myself…” He grinned, looking up at you, “That might be the cutest thing I’ve ever heard you say…”
“Shut up and kiss me.” You grumbled and Thor happily obliged, crawling back up to your lips. You kissed him eagerly for a moment, then you moved your hands down to the buttons of Thor’s trousers again and the god pulled back in dramatic shock.
“You tricked me…” He rumbled with raised brows.
“Erm hmm.” You hummed in agreement, pressing your palm against the noticeable bulge in his pants and glancing up at him expectantly.
“Maybe you’re not cute…” He teased.
“Maybe I’m not.” You grinned, then used one hand to pull his face back down to yours as you now tried to battle his trousers one-handedly with little success. Thor smirked into your lips, pulling away from you and stepping off the sofa to shed the remainder of his clothes till he stood above you completely naked – like a chiselled Norse God.
You scrambled upright and - for a moment - you forgot that you were trying to be confident and take charge and all you could do was look at him. The angelic yet burly beauty of the God.
Perfection.
In that moment, your self esteem plummeted. He could make you feel like heaven, but there was no way you could return that favour.
Thor didn’t give you the chance to linger on this thought for long though, as he now stepped towards you, taking your hand and pulling you to your feet. Before you could ask what he was doing or feel exposed in your nudity, his lips were on yours again, knocking the air from your lungs as he pulled you flushed against his body. You could feel his solid heat against you, knowing he must be painfully hard, but he seemed to have the patience and control of – well of a God – because, even though there was something hot and needy in the kiss, it was still slow and sensual, one hand cupping your face and holding you against his lips, whilst the other went to your hip.
He pulled back from you only slightly, his lips still brushing against yours, “I’ll be gentle.” Thor promised, flicking his eyes up to yours, both of you breathing harshly, eyes heavily lidded and he sounded almost as though he was reassuring himself as much as you.
“I’m not sure I want you to be...” You murmured back with a small cheeky grin, showing him you weren’t worried. Thor grinned at you and the next thing you knew, his hands were on your ass, lifting you up so that you instinctively wrapped your legs around his hips, the length of him now pressing against your crotch. You wrapped your arms around his neck, slowly shifting against him and closing your eyes at the feeling whilst Thor growled against you, the vibrations travelling from his chest to yours. “Please.” You groaned, and Thor didn’t need anything more than that, finding your lips again as he now pushed himself slowly into you.
The gasp that escaped your mouth was swallowed by Thor and he groaned against you. He was huge, and the stretch was painful, but you still had never wanted something as much as this. The effort to hold back for Thor seemed almost painful, but he allowed you a chance to get used to him. “I’m fine.” You reassured him – you weren’t sure if it was true, but you didn’t care either. Thor looked at you uncertainly but began to move nonetheless, though slowly, and you hissed through your teeth at the pull in your muscles. You dropped your head to Thor’s shoulder, your arms around his throat likely to have been strangling him if he wasn’t a super-powered God.
Thor continued his movements, knowing that soon the pain would ebb and, after a few moments, sure enough, you could feel something other than stinging pain - something even better than the bliss you had felt with his mouth on you which seemed to come from even deeper within you. It sparked like electricity. It sparked a fever. “Oh God.” You moaned in ecstasy, letting your head roll back now. “Yes.” You moaned as Thor picked up speed, forcing himself as deep into you as possible now. You gasped, releasing your hands and now gripping his shoulders instead now, digging your nails into his skin.
Thor moved forward now, lowering you back to the sofa cushions again, but you didn’t release him, your arms and legs still wrapped tightly and holding him to you. Thor placed his hands on the top of the sofa, using it to steady himself as he now drove into you harder and deeper, his breaths escaping his lips in harsh growls. “Thor…” You whimpered desperately, needing more, more of the lightening flashing through your veins. “Please…”
Thor bowed his head to yours and captured your mouth again as he moved one hand to slide between your bodies, finding your clit and circling the nerves again.
It barely took any time before you cried out as the storm finally erupted inside you, unable to help yourself and forgetting where you were. Thor followed only moments later, thrusting one last time deep into you as he groaned, only just managing to hold himself up to keep from collapsing onto you.
Your limbs felt numb and you dropped them from him now as you tried to catch your breath. Thor fell onto the cushions next to you, but not before he pulled you with him and you giggled breathlessly as you now found yourself cradled on his lap. You felt surprisingly at ease, curling into his chest, and your previous exhaustion was quick to wash back over you again.
You still had a worry in the back of your mind now, and, as the afterglow faded, it became all too painfully prominent again. “Was that – was that good for you?” You murmured, unable to face the God, and instead kept your eyes on his chest next to you.
“How can it be possibe for you to need to ask me that?” You glanced up to Thor now, seeing his brows raised and his smirk one of exasperation. You shrugged embarrassedly, unsure how to explain that it just shouldn’t be possible for him to love you.
“Correction.” Thor chuckled, “That is the cutest.”
You batted his chest with a scowl. “You can’t keep saying that.” You scolded lightly.
“Of course, I can…” He grinned, “And I shall. I shall spend every moment you give me trying to find every single cute thing you do…” He murmured down at you.
You swatted his chest, but didn’t say anything, hiding your pleased smile in his solid chest as he placed a kiss to the top of your head.
So, here it is, after a vvvvveeerryyy long break, I’m back trying to write again - let’s just hope I remember what the story is about.... haha
Hope you guys enjoy! x

MMIH MASTERLIST
Hela had thought she’d raised me to not care, I thought bitterly to myself as I snuck my way down the corridor, my path only lit by the small flame I held gently in my palm.
But unlike Ma’am, I was no god. She hoped I wouldn’t feel.
But I do.
And I couldn’t just stand by and watch this.
Any questioning glances I was given as I moved throughout the place was silenced with a simple mention of requiring food as I headed for the pantry. I knew there was a small stone servants corridor that led off from the main kitchen chamber.
One which contained a small window.
I snuffed the flame when I reached the window and hoisted myself up onto the ledge, pushing the pane open before I scrambled out of it.
I glanced down. Two floors up from the ground I knew was beneath despite being obscured from view. It was a decent size fall – something that would jolt me - but it shouldn’t injure me. With that comfort in mind, I let myself drop, landing heavily despite my attempts, and my knees buckled beneath me, pitching me forward onto the grass beneath into a forward roll.
The grass was wet beneath the bank of fog that continued to lie unbroken over the surroundings. Though I had loathed it before, I now thanked it for the cover it provided me from any eyes in the palace above and could only hope my brief drop from the window had gone unobserved.
I pushed myself back up to my feet, but kept myself bent over at the hips as I edged under the fog, my shins damp though I paid no heed to it, knowing I couldn’t risk a fire to try to dry them.
The fog might hide my figure, but the flame would surely glow through.
I headed straight for the closest line of trees - not quite trusting the fog not to have thinned in places, though I had never known it to before. I wasn’t sure where I was heading, but I had to try something to find whoever stole the Bifrost sword.
I hurried along the side of the hill at the bottom of the palace, now – below the thick cloud - able to see the edges of the city beyond - the paved streets and lit buildings, the shrubbery that lined the gardens and lanterns that glowed along the arches and stone bridges.
It almost looked normal if it wasn’t for the lack of people on the streets who would usually be enjoying the mild evening air and clear skies.
I was pulled out of my thoughts sharply by a flash of light that momentarily blinded me, having reflected a bright lantern’s glow into my eye. I squinted, shielding my eyes and slowing to a slight jog till I stopped altogether, trying to work out what had caused the light.
When my vision cleared again though, there was nothing in the direction the light had come from.
I frowned, moving forward slower now, keeping my eyes on the path where the light had come from. A movement suddenly caught the corner of my eye, grabbing my attention as it flickered behind several buildings and then headed for a large open bridge that headed out of the city and towards the mountainside.
Was it a shawl? A cloak? I broke out into a run towards the movements, heading towards the columns. I don’t know what I hoped for, but it was a clue if nothing else – something I feared would take days or maybe even weeks to find.
My legs carried me hurtling down the steep grassy bank towards the cobbled road, desperate to catch up with whatever I had seen – somehow realising I needed to get there and I praying that I hadn’t filled my head with false hope.
I suddenly skidded to a halt though when I caught sight of one of Ma’am’s undead guards chasing after the figure with me.
The figure I had been following now suddenly stopped as well, spinning to its pursuer, and drawing a large broad sword out of nowhere, slicing the undead creature clean in half, its body parts falling limp to the floor.
I pulled myself back together again and began to head forward once more at a brisk walk that that soon broke into a jog towards the stranger. The closer I got, the more familiar the figure’s features became until I knew I had seen him before. In a book during my studies.
He stood tall, proud and lean despite his fatigue from the run and battle – the gateman of the Bifrost. Heimdall.
As I continued to run towards him, another undead creature ran at Heimdall, almost berserk, and the gateman drove his sword forward into its chest, the force causing the skeleton to fall over backward, the blade catching it’s ribs and yanking the weapon out of Heimdall’s hands.
Before Heimdall could retrieve his weapon from where it was impaled in the creature, another guard took a swipe at his back with an axe which Heimdall dodged with astonishing reflexes before driving a heavy fist into the skeleton’s chest. I didn’t realise Heimdall gripped a dagger in this fist until he pulled back and I noticed it stained with a dark substance.
Heimdall turned back to retrieve his sword a second time, but faltered when it was no longer lodged in the undead guard’s chest. His gaze flickered up to where I now stood over the body, the heavy weapon in my hand.
I caught the flicker of recognition in Heimdall’s eyes a moment before the thick muscled man then lunged at me with the dagger still in his grip. Somehow I was quicker though, jumping back and dodging the blade repeatedly swung at me with deadly force. I was forced to drag the heavy sword back with me and I knew I couldn’t put enough distance between us to keep this up for long and I knew if Heimdall could manage to catch me, I would be done for before I could explain anything.
I rested the point of the blade on the cobbles at my feet and waved my free arm in the air in front of me, calling the flames from the torches that hung on the columns either side of us to flood out of their scones and down onto the floor, creating a roaring wall of fire between me and my attacker.
Heimdall staggered back at the wave of heat that spat at him, but I knew it wouldn’t hold him long, the fierce look in his eye told me he was already looking for a weakness in the barrier and I wouldn’t put it past him to just walk straight through for the sword in my hand.
Because I knew what this weapon was.
The missing sword.
The key to the Bifrost
Which he now thought was in the hands of the enemy.
“I’m not a foe!” I called out desperately, raising my free hand in surrender – as well as maintaining the fire - as the sword rested heavily against me.
“Not a foe.” He scoffed. “Do not try to fool me! You work for that witch!” He growled, throwing his chin up toward the bank of fog that blocked the palace from view. “You’re her little protegee.” He eyed the flames with disgust, still seeming to be weighing up the risk of stepping through.
“Please – Heimdall!” You urged desperately, “I’m not – I’m not with her,” I panted, pulling at the weakly at the sword. “I didn’t know better before, but now – now I can see the real her – the death and mayhem she’s caused – I don’t want to be a part of that! I want to help! Please, I know you don’t trust me, but I need you to!” I begged.
Heimdall narrowed his eyes at me over the flames. I sighed, “Here.” The flames vanished almost as soon as they had appeared and I heaved the sword, taking a step forward, which instinctively made Heimdall tense ready for an attack, but I just pulled the pommel towards him, handing it to him.
“I’m not a foe.” You repeated tiredly as he warily reached out for the pommel, every muscle of his arms tense and ready for a surprise attack.
Suddenly he snatched the sword handle, easily lifting if over his head and I instinctively cringed, ducking my head and screwing my eyes closed ready for the impact.
Instead, though, I heard a familiar grunt and glanced up to see another undead guard drop to the floor behind Heimdall, his muscular back – hidden by his cape – now in front of me.
Another grunt now sounded behind me and, before Heimdall could turn, I threw my hand behind me and ignited the guard’s stretched dry skin easily, now turning the creature into a charging ball of fire.
I spun where I crouched, flinging out a leg to catch the rushing creature and kicking him sideways so he toppled easily over the ledge and into the chasm below the bridge - thankful there was no railing or wall to get in the way.
I could hear the clash of sword on bone behind me, but I didn’t have time to glance back as I noticed two more guards dashing towards me from the direction of the city.
After sending these creatures a similar way to the last one, I barely had time to even right myself before there was a hand on my upper arm as Heimdall dragged me round and pulling me after him. We ran down the rest of the long open bridge that Asgard with the surrounding mountains, my legs not taking long to protest thanks to my run down from the castle.
Suddenly I found myself dangling over the edge of the abyss below, my feet only connected to the bridge by my heels still resting on the cobbles and Heimdall’s strong fingers curling into the front of my tunic were the only things stopping me from falling.
“Why did you leave the witch?” He snarled down at me, sweat gleaming on his forehead.
I stuttered slightly as I explained everything I had been through – hoping it didn’t sound as ridiculous as it did to my own ears. Heimdall was silent for a while once I had finished and I chewed my lip anxiously, silently pleading that he would even try to believe me.
“Ok.” He muttered and the next thing I knew, he had heaved me back upright, the blood rushing from my head back down to my feet making me feel slightly light headed for a moment, and I had no columns, the large broadsword edge at my throat. “Betray me, though, and you will suffer the consequences…” He growled warningly down at me.
I didn’t dare speak or even nod for fear of driving the sword further into my skin, but he seemed to accept the undeniable fear in my eyes that said I wouldn’t push my luck that far, because he then removed the sword, releasing me. I stumbled forward slightly, not realising I had even risen onto my toes, and breathed in lungful’s of air that I hadn’t dared to a minute ago.
Without another glance at me, Heimdall continued down the bridge without a word and, after a pause, I followed after him, glancing around in fear of seeing more guards. He led me the rest of the way into the mountains, soon venturing off the main path and onto a near invisible trail that had been worn into the rocks.
It felt like we turned back on ourselves over and over, but eventually we stopped in the centre of a path that seemed to incircle one of the peaks of the Asgardian mountain range. I watched Heimdall expectantly, but he didn’t even glance at me, and my attention was soon distracted by the cliff face opposite us. Its carved surface looked ornate like several other areas of the mountain we had passed, but now I realised it was more than just and art within the stone as it now seemed to crack before my eyes and the wall came away like a draw bridge, creating a crossing over the canyon that separated the peaks.
Finally, Heimdall stepped onto the stone wall, heading into the cavern that had now been revealed in the wall.
I barely hesitated before stepping after him.
I heard the wall close up almost immediately behind us, closing us into complete darkness compared to the dim light from the moons outside which had managed to filter through the fog.
It took a moment for my eyes to adjust, but then I caught the vague glimmer of torches down a passageway which I followed Heimdall towards. We eventually entered a large hall in which I found myself on a raised ledge above a huge chamber which I soon realised was full of people, all their faces now turned to me in horror, women encircling their children in their arms or shielding them behind their back, crouching in fear.
I couldn’t believe how scared they were of me.
But who could blame me after everything Hela did – and with me always stood right next to her.
“Do not be afraid of this girl.” Heimdall declared to the group, not needing to get their attention, my presence already enough. “Watch her with caution, but she assures me her loyalty does not lie with the would-be queen. I have heard her story and witnessed her rid us of three of the witch’s guards.” He announced, glancing over at me with a grave look on his face before turning back to the crowd, “I trust her.” He stated and I couldn’t help breathing a sigh of relief.
My favourite thing is the Justice League Action episode - Missing the Mark - where Mark Hamill is captured by the Joker voiced by Mark Hamill and the Trickster voiced by Mark Hamill.
He then tricks them so he can be rescued by Swamp Thing who is voiced by Mark Hamill
Ok, so this is a request I was given when I decided to try to give writing Newt Scamander a go.

So I don’t know if its any good - pretty short and I have neither written Newt or Trans before, but I hope its alright?
(That I know of Hinklepuff don’t exist either - I made them up?? haha)
MAIN MASTERLIST
“Mr Scamander?”
Newt startled at his name, turning towards the owner of the voice behind him. His mind had been away with the fay - the ones he were likely to have already picked the lock to the door of his cellar and now would be wreaking havoc on the remainder of his London home. They weren’t as bad as pixies, of course, but the place was still going to be a mess and it would be even harder to convince Bunty to go home.
At least the enchantments would keep the creatures within the house – it would be hard enough to catch them as it was without chasing them down the cold, damp streets of the city.
Newt mentally added yet another item to the list of reasons he would rather be anywhere but at this engagement party.
These thoughts upon these inevitable occurrences, however, had now been momentarily pushed from the forefront of his mind as he now took in the person before him.
“[Y/N].” They greeted, offering a hand to him which he took after a moment of wrestling his own hand out where it had been buried in his coat pocket. “[Y/N] [L/N].” They clarified.
“Oh.” Was all Newt managed out initially, his eyes flickering over them, taking in the short hair, long lashes and loose, poorly fitting shirt and jacket. The handshake was over, but the two of them still held hands, neither one seeming to realise the situation and pull away. Newt was still too lost in thought. “You’re – you’re –“ Newt started without thinking, blinking in surprise.
“A person?” They supplied helpfully, their lips twisting slightly in amusement.
“W-well yes.” Newt bobbed his head unconvincingly, having to acknowledge this as true.
“A guy?” They tried to help again.
“Uh – uh – y-yes I – I suppose –“ Newt stammered awkwardly, blushing and dropping his eyes as he realised the hole he had quickly dug himself into.
“Trans?” You finally offered him and Newt didn’t say anything this time, though you noticed the red flush in his pale cheeks as he tried to hide his bashful face.
“It’s not an unforgivable spell, you know, you can say it.” You tease weakly at his embarrassment.
“No – no, I – I know,” Newt stammered out, clearing his throat uncomfortably and lifting his head slightly. He still seemed unable to meet your eyes though, and instead his gaze went out to the rest of the room around you, flickering around the crowds nervously. “It’s uh – its just that – um – well –“
You followed his gaze to the mass of people that chatted and socialised – the event in full swing around the two of you. “People don’t like it.” You finished for him quietly.
Newt’s eyes flickered to where yours watched the members of the ministry milling around the hall, sipping firewhisky and gillywater, something lonely and forlorn in them that pulled at his chest. Newt turned his gaze forward again, knowing [Y/N]’s problem well. He had felt it before. Feeling isolated, overlooked, snubbed. Simply for being a bit different. For doing something that, in your own heart, felt right.
For being one’s self.
“Did you know the Slimdrop Hinklepuff changes gender?” Newt asked abruptly, not turning from where he faced the room. This question startled you somewhat though, and you turned to blink at the magizoologist in bewilderment.
“I - I mean – well it’s actually all down to the – uh – the availability of mates.” Newt stuttered, your sudden attention making his previous flash of confidence waver. “Y-you see, if there aren’t – aren’t enough females in a population, the - the males – they – uh – they metamorphosise into a female and – and vice versa.” He explained, gesturing with his hands, his blue eyes darting from yours to his hands. “It’s – it’s a very fascinating approach to ensuring equal partnering within – within a group of creatures,” He commended, his eyes on the floor as he bobbed his heads, “- and a very – uh - efficient way to maintain population and – um - breeding – um – breeding pairs.” Newt finished, glancing uncomfortably out to the centre of the room again, clearly embarrassed by this unexpected burst of information.
“I – I – don’t believe, however, that there have – that there have every been record of – uh – of the hinklepuffs simply – uh - altering their gender of their own preference though.” He admitted in his own weak attempt at a joke - finishing his words in a rush - as though wishing to get them out before he stuttered again - or chickened out.
You watched him with a slight frown for a moment, and you caught Newt glancing anxiously at you out of the corner of his eye – clearly concerned by your silence and worried that he had truly put his foot in it this time and managed to offend you. You finally a small smirk curve your lips, “It’s possible though.” You pointed out.
A relieved smile flicker across Newt’s face before he ducked his head into a nod, “Yes - yes I s-suppose it is.” He chuckled, his laugh breathy and revealing of his nerves.
The two of you lapsed into a mutual silence then, both returning your gazes to the room’s other occupants. You tried not to catch people’s eyes, knowing the glares and judging stares you were likely to receive in return, wondering if it was best just to leave now. You’d proved something to yourself – and to all these people – now surely – proved that you would come attend events despite the reception that awaited for you - proved you would not be shunned from society.
But still there glares were eating away at your esteem and your confidence was wearing thin. Did you truly prove anything else by hanging around? Or were they somehow making you forfeit this victory if you left early?
You chewed your lip as you tried to work out just how much longer you needed to defy the stares and mutterings before you could leave with at least the majority of your dignity.
“You - you know, I believe you’re very brave.” Newt stated quietly next to you and you glanced over at him in surprise, and his eyes flickered to yours. You could see the pure honesty in their blue depths, truly noticing now how there was no judgement there, nothing but simple acceptance, seeing no difference in you from anyone else in the room.
It was your turn to glance shyly away, back to the room, back to the glares, and you felt your face fall again. It was too much to hope for that anyone would ever be that accepting – surely a trick of the light. “Or stupid” You muttered glumly, releasing a wary sigh, “I’ve heard it all before – ‘peculiar’ ‘an odd phase’, ‘freak’…” You growled bitterly, closing your eyes at the rush of anger as you remembered the emotions each cruel, unaccepting word brought you.
“I’ve heard very similar.” Newt confessed gently next to you, the corner of his mouth turning up in a humourless smirk and you glanced over at him in disbelief. Newt simply shrugged lightly in way of explanation.
You turned away again in thought at this, feeling an odd warmth towards the man beside you. Could he possibly understand what it was like to stand amongst all these people and yet feel completely alone? You’d heard a little of the ministry employee before, noticed him alone amongst the crowd, and sought him out simply to praise his new book – yet you had been pleasantly surprised by the nervous yet uncharacteristically open nature he offered you.
You supposed the night may not have been a complete waste after all. It was nice to have the hope that there could be an occasional friendly faces amongst those who turned their backs on you.
“I must say, Mr Scamander,” You finally spoke up again after a few moments of contemplative silence, “I thoroughly enjoyed your book,” You smiled politely, “and it was an honour to meet you.” You held out your hand in farewell.
“You – you’ve read my book?” Newt stuttered in surprise, automatically reaching for your hand.
You nodded as you gripped his hand, “Of course! Truly fascinating stuff – I can only wait anxiously for the next edition.” You enthused warmly.
“The -The next – the next edition?” His hand shake faltered.
“Well, yes.” You smiled at his astonished expression, releasing his hand. “I do hope you plan to continue it? To update it with new findings?”
“I – uh - I hadn’t – I hadn’t really considered it.” He confessed bashfully, ducking his head at your undisguised praise. “I – I haven’t – haven’t actually considered any future – publications or anything else.” He admitted.
“Well I would strongly urge you too.” You stated honestly and all Newt could do was blink in amazement, glancing up past his messy fringe at you. You offered him a kind smile, then nodded in farewell – seeing it best to leave the party before someone else sought to drag your spirits back down from their rare high.
You turned to leave.
“W- would you -” You faltered abruptly at the voice behind you, raised, but still as uncertain as ever, and you slowly pivoted back towards the nervous academic. “Uh –“ Newt flushed red, ducking his head again, watching his feet, “Would you care to…”He took a breath and tilted his head up to you “to get a drink with me?” Newt finally managed out.
You didn’t try to fight the smile that pulled at your lips. “That sounds nice.” You nodded politely, and Newt’s smile brightened his face as you stepped towards him.
