When I was 15, I spent a summer in China teaching English to elementary school kids in Beijing. We took a bus to the beach and ended up teaching some classes just feet from the sandy beach of the Yellow Sea. This is Mag. She chose the English name “Meg” but spelled it Mag and liked the sound better because she was 5 years old. One day, our class was on the beach and I asked the students to make something in the sand. Mag’s English wasn’t great, but she said she wanted to show me something she made and it was a surprise (a new word she had just learned). This heart is what she made. I walked over to see it, and she turned to looks at me with a big smile and then pointed at me and said,”For you.” Languages are difficult barriers for people of different cultures, but the idea of love isn’t. Love has its own language. I quickly snapped this photo and she was my favorite student from that moment on! #loveishere #thelanguageoflove #happyvalentinesday #loveyourself #loveyourlife #loveyourfriends #loveyourjob #loveoneanother #friendshipislove #loveiseverything (at Quindao Danao) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt4hQ4MAS5g/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1oyge5ktlo8h8
