HELLLLOOOOOOOOO AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER POETRY NIGHTMAAAAAARE! This October, THE POEMING invites you to write 31 poems in 31 days using a novel by Christopher Pike. We’ll be assigning novels to 59 poets—our list of novels includes all of Pike’s YA and adult novels, but not any anthologies, story collections, or his Spooksville early reader series. Our goal is for these 59 poets complete 31 poems each for a total of 1,829 NEW poems by November 1st! Here’s how it works: Each poet will use their assigned book to write 31 found poems. Poets will have the whole summer to write the poems (we will start assigning novels in batches as sign-ups come in) and a poem must be posted each day in October. Poets will be invited to a Facebook group where participants can share resources and ideas and encouragement, and, during October, share their daily poems. Do you think you’re up to the task?
