he actually had a different name as a kitten (tesla, his sister who someone else adopted was curie) but my parents kept calling him ‘kitten’ and I started calling him the void like “the void ate a whole loaf of bread again.” Cause the fucker would do stuff like that then disappear into the shadows and it would be impossible to find him. hes also v quiet and likes to come up and sit behind you, staring until you turn around and have a heart attack. weeping angels style. 

He’s just very sneaky and... void like. he’ll show up in rooms when you are 100% sure that he was in a room across the house like 30 seconds ago and you never saw any movement. I have had multiple personal heart strains when I am doing something mundane and turn to see him backlit by the light in the next room, staring at me like a damn gargoyle of death.

Anyways it stuck. he still also gets called kitten even though he is a full grown, if tiny, man

“Yup~” Ryu shook his head, as he tried to suppress his laughter. “They tried to untangle Bast with me … and  ended up tangled in ribbon themselves~”

“Well are you gonna help us, or are you gonna stand there and laugh?~” Blake half whined half laughed as she struggled to get free.

“One second~” Ryu chuckled, before taking a picture of the two tangled up. “That’s gonna be my Christmas card this year~”
