The Book of Boba Fett: S1E6
From the Desert Comes a Stranger
With this latest entry in the series it's clear that John Favreau has taken a lot of inspiration from Sergio Leone's 1968 epic Spaghetti Western classic; “Once Upon a Time in the West”.
SPOILERS/POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOLLOW:
In episode 6 we learn the Pyke syndicate, who have been establishing a Spice route, have hired none other than fan-favorite bounty hunter Cad Bane as their enforcer.
THEORY: CAD BANE MASSACRED THE SAND PEOPLE
The plot similarities between Once Upon a Time in the West and Book of Boba Fett are enough that I feel confident that by the end of the series, it will be revealed that Cad Bane was the one who massacred the Tusken Raiders and made it appear as if it were the Nikto Sand Riders.
In Once Upon a Time in the West, Railroad tycoon Morton is attempting to build a railroad that stretches across the continental united states, and hires the sadistic gunslinger Frank, played by Henry Fonda, to act as his enforcer and remove any obstacles that will interfere with his plans. Specifically, Morton tasks Frank with intimidating Brett McBain who owns a ranch on property Morton needs to complete his transcontinental railroad. Frank massacres McBain and his entire family, and makes it to look like a different group of outlaws were behind it.
If my theory is correct, this mirrors exactly what the Pykes have done. They hired Cad Bane to massacre the Sand People, but made it look like it was the Nikto Sand Riders.
I'm 99.9% sure this is how the Series will play out.
Episode 6 of Boba even introduces Bane exactly the same way Fonda is introduced; walking toward camera, center frame, blurry and out of focus(Pics Below)
OUATIW moves at a slow pace, especially by modern standards, but it's an absolutely great film and worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
