“I thought-- I thought they were all gone-- all of them and yet you’re here. How are you here?”
“Hi, old man.”
The Woods are Lovely, Dark, and Deep (Eleven and Evelyn)
Evelyn stood in the heart of the dark forest with its whispering shadows that seemed to creep and slither along the ground at her feet, with its gnarled, skeletal trees that appeared to be reaching for her with sinister crackling fingers, with its heavy air that felt to be made to slowly and insidiously smother, and she couldn’t remember how she got there.
She was frightened. She was well and truly frightened, and she knew she had Traveled here because the unruly cascade of her hair was long and the color of spun starlight (rather than her usual brunette locks that she kept trimmed to a sensible above-shoulder length), and she was wearing that rather annoying filmy white thing that she always seemed to be wearing when she Traveled, and the flesh of her arms and hands was ghostly pale. But she didn’t remember Traveling here. Perhaps that in itself shouldn’t have struck her as oddly as it did, since she often had memory lapses during her nightly journeys; but the thing is, she didn’t even remember going to bed this night, or even going home. The last thing she remembered was her weekly foray to the supermarket, and standing outside her little silver Honda Accord as she loaded the trunk with groceries.

She hadn't expected to see the Tardis parked right out on the campus lawn, or for the box to be seemingly abandoned as she knocked on the door once again. Surely he was in there, he had to be. Nothing around the university had gone wrong today- and the box definitely wasn’t here when she walked to class a mere hour before.
With a huff and narrowed eyes River was resting her hand on the wood, trying to decide if it was alright to just walk in. If he wasn't answering the door- and wasn't running around the school then where the hell was he? It was out of concern for him more than anything else that she barged into the box, a frown on her face and a hand on her hip as her eyes immediately landed on the Doctor sitting in the jump seat.
"Didn't you hear me knocking?" She asked loudly, just in case his hearing was off before shutting the door behind her and walking closer- noticing something very, very odd as she rounded the console to meet him face to face. There was a baby. An actual, real baby sitting there in his arms.
"Obviously not. You already have company apparently. But since when do you have babies on the Tardis? I didn't realize that male Gallifreyans could do that. You can’t do that, can you? Did I miss something? "
“Did you shrink since I last saw you?”
“–DAD.”

You’re perfectly welcome to ignore this or let me know if you moved the thread(s) somewhere and I’ve lost it/them somehow, or if you want to do something different. Some of them may be replies for my sideblogs, so feel free to ask, though I will try to include links to the threads below, which should clarify. GARRICK STREET, LONDON
Red wellies squeaked underneath the damp pavement. The water and lights reflecting off of the cherry material. Ellanor Phillips. Five foot, four inches. Porcelin freckled skin, shoulder length brunette hair in a navy jumper made her way down the street, business inside the plastic bag she had looped around her left arm, digging inside for the treats she had just bought. Maybe she should save it for until she actually got home. Put on a movie and pillage through Insight Guides: China. Was her idea of a wild weekend. She was far too busy doing her personal research to possibly go out with work mates or date. No, no. This was far more crucial. She had to be prepared when that day came that she backpacked around the world with all that saved money.
Some day.
Stuffing three maltesers in her mouth, the off duty waitress stopped short at the break of the road between a building and an alley way, a bright blue glow shining on the dripping wall from the earlier rain. Mid chew, her brows furrowed, stepping over a puddle as her reflection turned the corner toward the mysterious light. What could that be? She was a few steps short of finding out.
Plastic bag rustling with each step, Ella came upon a luminescent blue box, wrapping the bag inside her purse as she looked up in awe. It was just a box, but it was so beautiful. But this hadn’t always been here. She’d come down this way almost every day. Maybe it was for an event? Swallowing her chocolate, Ellanor dared to step closer, laying a hand on the door of the box, glowing eyes checking it up and down. It wouldn’t hurt to peak.
Looking left to right, she pressed on, hand wrapping around the handle and opening the door just a crack. But from what she saw from that small sliver, it brought her to continue to spread that door wide open and walk in. Like it was calling to her. Gasping under her breath, the waitress gripped her purse, eyes and neck rolling everywhere. It was HUGE. With lights and buttons. What could this be?! If it was unlocked, maybe it was something everyone could come and look at.
Stepping backwards, Ellanor stuck her head out of the doorway, eyes up at the ‘PUBLIC POLICE CALL BOX’ and the sides before walking back in and shutting the door behind her. It definitely didn’t appear to be what it was.
But there seemed to be no one here.
Small smile on her face, she grazed a light touch over the console before following the steps into the hall, wellies echoing along with her. There were all sorts of doors. And the hallway seemed to stretch endlessly. Were they all hotel rooms? Finally stopping at one, she hovered a hand before it unexpectedly slid open, Ellanor flinching in surprise. It was a library. The most beautiful library she had ever seen. Books spiraling all the way up to the glass ceiling. It felt old. With a fireplace and a tufted chair.
Giggling with excitement, her bucktooth grin shined through as the curious waitress made her way through the aisles of books, giving the bottles labeled with circular writing a light tap. An uproar of whispers emitting from them, but she hadn’t noticed. Why was this on the shelf? And in the same area, there was more circular writing. Maybe it was some sort of tribal writing..
Moving on, Ellanor wandered out from the library, another door at he end of the twisting hallway sliding open to reveal a calming blue light. Water..It was a pool. An Olympic sized pool. With a night sky. Like this wasn’t even a room. She’d somehow transported. Rushing to the edge, she was greeted by her smiling reflection, dipping a hand into the warm water and swirling it around. How was all of this possible?
If there was a library and a pool, what else could she find?
A FOREST.
Running through, she interrupted a flock of resting butterflies, a cloud of them lifting off around her as fast as they could. Orange and black flooding into the tree tops. Into the sudden daylight. There were even flowers, and strange glowing flowers she had never seen before toward the exit of the room before long. Poking at them, a few fireflies twisted past her, Ellanor taking her leave into a similar looking hallway.
A different type of door. It was wooden and one you had to push open. But it was already open. Sitting right in the center of it was some sort of giant steam punk looking telescope. This had to be some sort of observatory. Footsteps clacking under the metal flooring, she hastily sat herself down, excitement taking over as she pushed her head down to look. It was set on a green planet. With burning milky white rings. Better not move it in case someone was studying this. The name of the planet remained a mystery. If only some notes had been lying around.
Pulling at her sweater, she felt like a child running around on a playground. Every corner she turned was an adventure. A new discovery. It was absolutely beautiful. Loose in this maze. The thought didn’t even occur to her that she could be lost.
Ah, some stairs, Those were something she hadn’t seen in a while. Going down, she gripped the railing for safety, jumping off the last step into a lighter lit hallway. It had a circular entrance with a bigger and more grand door at the end. Curiosity getting the best of her, she ventured into the dark, her figure being strobed by a giant metal tree with hanging lights. It was more beautiful than anything she had seen here.
Jaw dropped, Ellanor inched closer towards the hanging bulbs, lightly running a palm on them as she squinted. Eyes a bit sensitive at first. Funny, there was that writing again. The circles with the small circles. And each one was different. It was like these were berries or something. But maybe it was just a work of art. She didn’t know. There was a sort of hum like it wasn’t, though. Like this did something. Probably. Examining one last bulb, she wiped a soot smudge from it before leaving it be, the door shutting promptly behind her.
This place was endless and she was restless. So much adrenaline from her personal discovery pumping through her.
Twirling down a spiral staircase with glee, the room was lined with clothing. Old Victorian gowns to tuxedos of all kinds. Hats and umbrellas, too. Stepping in front of a mirror, the waitress tried on a rather colorful scarf, wrapping herself in it entirely like a mummy before putting it back, doing a little dance with an umbrella with a handle of a question mark. Was that a piece of celery on the lapel of that blazer? Such incredible things in here. Maybe this was for theatre. The only thing it was missing was wellies. It had everything but.
Unbelievable.
Running down the hall as fast as she could, her feet pounded, running a hand along the octagon stretch of wall. Catching her breath at the end, she tucked a piece behind her ear, blindly walking into a hissing doorway. Copper and gold machines puffing steam and sounding off after another until she was completely inside. It sure was a lot noisier and hotter than the other rooms.
But THERE. There under the still device was a pair of feet. Leather brown boots. Someone was actually here. Exhaling, she gazed on with wide eyes, voice striking against the high pitched steam,
❛ Oh, hello--❜
