In designing [Monica's] suit, Visual Development Concept Artist Anthony Francisco took initial inspiration from the comic book Monica's classic monochrome Captain Marvel appearance, as well as more recent redesigns that have followed in its wake. "I wanted the suit to reflect some of that original design language, but with a more modern look. Exploring the star on her chest was a lot of fun. I tried many different designs [...] [the final design is] like a blooming flower, where each petal supports the others.
