I let brainrot take the wheel and now I have character reference sheet for my bois (You might remeber these two from like a few months ago?)

This was so welcomed and so much fun to work on, plus I thought the sun scythe needed a rework (so does the eclipse version but I'll get to that one later)

Character designs I think are neat

A fire-themed set of siblings. Both have messy, almost wavy red hair. The elder sibling primarily wears brown clothing (representing a torch), and the younger primarily wears gray and has a hoodie with a particularly boxy hood that they like to completely cover their head with (representing a lighter, specifically Zippo style lighters).

A mirror-themed character whose appearance reflects that of whoever is looking at them. The exception to this is darkness-, ghostly-, or otherwise invisible-themed characters (infrared light, UV light, etcetera), who see a translucent, glassy figure.

What if dryads/ents, except burnt and ashy and generally themed around plant-life/flora after a forest fire? Like seriously, this sort of design is my jam. Give me burnt-undead plant-entities that crackle and moan and have a faint, flickering fiery glow that can be seen seeping out of their joints and mouth and eye-holes!

Any sort of "duality" or "opposites" theming. Like two ice/snow-themed characters, one who represents fun stuff like snowmen and ice-skating and snowball fights and the other just flat out looks like they fell through an iced-over lake and/or froze to death.

Characters themed after stuff like dice, cards, coins, slots, spinners, roulettes, and other things of that nature. Bonus points if a villainous character with this sort of design has elements that suggest "tampering" or "being loaded."

Non-horrific horror-themed characters. Like. Cutesy Vampire teens in their victorian nobleperson garments desperately trying to catch up on popular culture ("Vat is an 'updog?'"), or young werewolves that just look like slightly-feral kids with a lot of hair and sharper teeth. You go on down to the local doctor's office and you're greeted by a doctor and a nurse who are coated in blood, have an uncomfortable habit of staring unblinkingly, and really didn't think through the decor all that well, but they're both genuinely there to provide medical help. That's the sort of vibe I'm going for here.

admittedly I'm a sucker for gooey or rubberhose-themed characters. Like. Stretchy! Bendy! They can puddle! My monkey brain is awash in the dopamine chemicals!

Themed Characters: Fairies

“Do I look like I can reach behind my head and do elegant braids myself?” He asked, hair a complete mess.

She was curious about humans and that’s how she ended up disguised as one, working in retail to get close to them. She hated it.

They flicked a drop of water off their nose, glaring down at the laughing merfolk in the water, wings folded up behind them.

“It’s simple; I provide them magic and I get protection from this grumpy werewolf,” they said, patting said beast on the shoulder. 

When she wasn’t hiding her wings, she liked to show off the leaf patterns, where she could easily hide in any tree so long as it was spring or summer. 

The bow in their hands felt right, and as they held their breath, releasing the arrow, they watched it completely miss the red and white target.

“Didn’t anyone ever tell you making trades with the likes of my kind was a bad idea?” He asked, though he was more than tempted to close the deal while it was still in his favor and leave.

They watched their human friend stumble into trouble and tried to keep their sigh quiet as they walked over, ready to do damage control.

I wanted to draw these two together originally but I couldn't find a pose that fit until yesterday

Speed paint might not be up until tomorrow but this is technically my last piece of 2022!

He is complete, I adore how he turned out (there are nitpicks I could make but my brain is too mushy to care, he's my boi)

Themed Characters: Cyborgs

She thought of it as a remember of what she failed to do. She opened his right hand, watching the red metal. She felt her frown deepen. 

He couldn’t believe he was thinking this, but he was happier than before. Looking at his body, despite the scars and the traces of metal he could see scattered about, all he could think about was that he’d improved. 

They hated it; the fact they had to charge their arm to get access to the cool stuff was the worst. 

They were still getting used to their strength. The crushed doorknob was enough evidence to prove that fact to anyone.

She looked in the mirror and wondered if she could make her left eye more realistic. At least it could take pictures. 

“I’m not a robot. I can feel,” he insisted, playfully. 

They knew they probably shouldn’t be using their leg for this. They stuck a spoon to their knee anyway and watched it stay in its place. 

“It’s a classic joke,” they said, waving the hand around, in their other hand. “It’s definitely worth the three hours it’ll take getting it put back on.”

Themed Characters: Witches

There was something appealing about black and white stripes, even if it was a bit cliche.

They put something extra into their patrons’ tattoos as they gave them, finding happiness in granting luck or protection to those who looked like they needed it.

After a previous accident involving fire, he started keeping his hair in ponytails or buns to keep it out of the way.

She specialized in the fates of others, and her predictions usually came true, but lately it seemed that wasn’t true anymore.

They still hadn’t managed to find their familiar, but their determination didn’t cease, even if the pet shelter was becoming a little exasperated.

He liked how the earth felt beneath his bare feet and how the moon cast its light upon his skin.

She thrived with the sun and derived her power from it, which she transformed into positivity for others. 

None of their spells seemed to ever work unless they were listening to music at the time of casting.
