Guys am I the only one who's constantly thinking about Rohan's backstory??? As we know children who are found in a horrific situation are 'saved' and brought to the Mercy and In The Brothers Hawthorne Jameson finds out that Rohan was one of those children. And then in The Grandest Game during Savannah's and Rohan's little truth or dare tingy he talks about his earliest memory. Drowning in dark water, about being in his mother's arms. He also says that "they" (most likely to be his family members) did it to him on purpose AND repeatedly. They kept him for a few years and then what? Just decided to drown a five year old?
The fact that we don’t know much about Rohan’s past makes sense though, because he’s obviously repressing that memory as much as he can. He doesn’t want to remember, but he probably will have to, since he's literally surrounded by water on the island. I have a feeling he’ll have to face it at some point and honestly, what if his fear is deeper than we think? What if being near water triggers something physical (like panic attacks, dissociation, or blackouts?) It would explain why he's so closed off emotionally too. Maybe I'm overthinking it idk.
I lwk want him and Lyra to be friends. Probably won't happen because he literally said that if he finds out what Lyra's "weaknesses" are he'll use it against her in the games to win. So bro definitely does not want to be friends.😔
