like there are healthy models for this, like paying a teen/adult child money for chores done that covers the "rent" and some spending money, which teaches Job Skills and basic economics, the rent money thats given back to the parents then goes into a fund for the adult child's education or given to them when they're ready to make a downpayment on their own home or rental space, that teaches action to reward

only immature parents with weak emotional boundaries seek to commit emotional incest financially like straight up charging rent from their children
