Funny little thing that happened today is realizing I have A Type™ that I didn't know I had, and that type is called "Scientific Weirdo Very Likely To Be Autistic":

Bonus points if they wear long coats and are chronically ill (looking at you, Rei and Isaac).

Now I am highly tempted to draw Isaac in that Rei fit eh eh

Also for more little similarities between Rei and Isaac (bc it's while presenting Rei to a friend that it clicked):

Both have a beauty mark/mole near their mouth

That description has so many similarities with Isaac. The little to no ethics once they have their minds settled on something, the single-mindedness, the "brutally honest" aspect and lack of people skills, the chronic illness/chronic pain, the curiosity, but also artistic side…

And of course, love that Rei is literally holding a synthetic heart in that sprite:

Intro post

Realized I never done anything like that on here so hi, I'm Themys, mostly an artist in fandoms, but I've been taking a stab at writing lately.

I'm currently in the Wednesday fandom, hyperfixated on Tyler/Isaac, so you'll be seeing a lot of this. This current blog is my art blog where I post most of my fanarts (I tend to reserve WIPs for my personal blog), but you can also find me:

I'm very open to be asked things as long as they're respectful. I am proship, in the original sense, aka = I believe in ship and let's ship, using "notp" instead of going on a moral crusade against a ship you don't like, blocking, muting, and tagging appropriately, and am against trying to assume someone's morality on their ships or assign them real life crimes based purely on the fiction they consume. I also strongly dislike ship wars, as I find them pointless. Shipping isn't activism, nor a war of "who has it more canon". Fandoms are transformative spaces, if you can't have fun there, then why even be in fandoms?

People bringing up my age in fandom discourse are funny.

I know I'm an old fart. But I also know you're way closer to be my age than you think. You'll reach 30 and realize that you don't suddenly feel like an old person, that you won't suddenly only care about taxes or raising children. That your interests will still be here.

And you'll have a choice. Either you try to stick to your idea that ppl over 25, or 30 (funnily the goal post gets moved, as ppl using this argument gets older themselves) can't be in fandom enjoying ships, and you force yourself out of your interests.

Or you admit you were wrong and keep doing what you do.

Heck, I'd say the older you get, the more you need that little corner where you can just enjoy your interests in peace. To decompress, to get a distraction from increased responsibilities, stress, and worry. And I sincerely hope you won't bar yourself from your harmless interests out of misguided pride and ego.

Antis really have a knack for ruining fandoms don't they?

Anyway I won't judge you if you hold off interacting with my art or shipping posts bc of antis. It sucks but your safety and comfort in fandoms take priority.

I'm used to it. Systematically falling for antagonists generally leads you to some ships that would have been seen as basic 10/20 years ago and are now the peak of problematic. I've shipped Haringrove, EDEN, Sebaciel, kliego, kaeluc, plantcest, ect. Tysaac is just another addition to the list.

None of them have turned me into a monster irl bc surprise surprise, you have agency regarding the fiction you consume, and it's up to you and your moral compass to let or not let fiction affect your reality.

Fandoms are supposed to be fun and creative. Not stressful and overpoliced.

I feel like a lot of grief people have with S2 of Wednesday (and honestly, all current shows but especially further seasons) is linked to the 8-episodes format.

Like obviously, the first seasons are often introductory and try to not put too much, or can get away with not developing everything they set up from the get go because it's a first season. They ease you into their universe and set things up. So 8 episodes can work.

But then, they have to develop on the elements that weren't resolved in S1. And they need to introduce new elements to keep the story going and interesting and not just act as a conclusion to S1 (after all, you need to set up the upcoming seasons).

And then, 8 episodes isn't enough anymore. You can't develop old characters properly, introduce new characters with enough in-depth informations, you can't take your plots as far as you'd have hoped, etc.

Not to fully excuse the writers, but i think we really need to remember the context. 8 episodes seasons are new, and we had longer seasons for a reason. Heck even just going back to 10 episodes like for GoT would allow for 2 more hours to dig more on some character development or make some plots longer.
