Poorly Drawn October Day 15: Man am I (not) afraid of hands

Oh boy HOWDY. (I drew 4 hands.) Let’s get the artwork & associated quote out of the way first:

He looked at the colors held in my fingers. “So ... each of those ones is a named colour.”

“Yeah.”

“Show me the rest.”

I went through, tracing the orange and grey and purple.

“Purple.” He took the pencil gently from my fingers, holding it in front of him. “That’s the colour of the evening sky, when the sun slides between the sky and sea.” Absent-mindedly his hand scribbled the lines of the sun, spreading a streak of orange and yellow below it, pushing the purple pencil into the paper to imitate the waves of the sea.

Well I want to say that I am PROUD of this one. Maybe it’s my sickness-adjacent headache or the fact that I spent a good while on it, or I just feel like I did almost exactly what I set out to achieve.

The Timelapse of the draw is at the bottom of the post. I’m actually doing everything for PoorlyDrawnOctober on one nightmare document which is why this is like 2 pixels (but good for this post lol!) But I really am glad to have kinda taken my time on this one, and despite needing to redo most of the line work since I did it on the pencil layer (I swear I think I have a cold) I feel like it turned out so well.

Actually used 2 references for this, posing my hands on either side of a table so that I could get everything I wanted!

(And uh yeah I forgot to give either of them sleeves but I was too excited to remember things like clothes)
