This is how I emoji-outlined the revised plot of THE NAMELESS QUEEN. This goes on for several pages and it was surprisingly the most effective method I’ve ever used for outlining. (I call it emoji outlining—is that weird?) It was both visual and linear, and it naturally broke things down to scene level and a cause-effect relationship.
