Books yeah books! 10, 11, 20, 31, 31, 31 (rec me three books)
10. The book(s) you bought because the cover was pretty, and whether it was worth it
good omens so yeah it was freaking great. and fangirl because i love noelle stevenson and yeah, it was good.
11. The worst book hangover you’ve ever had
freaking lions of al-rassan by ggk or any of his books. i have left one half finished because everything is happy at the halfway point and i know it’s not going to remain so. having your heart pulverised never felt so good.
20. The coolest bookshop you’ve ever been to
shakespeare and co. in paris is pretty sweet but i really like the university bookshop in my hometown. it has lovely shelves and maybe that doesn’t actually count as the coolest but it’s the best.
iron cast by destiny soria 100% for sure, it is all the good things. and the cover of tash hearts tolstoy by kathryn ormsbee was just revealed and it looks soooo good but you can’t read it until like june next year which is rude.
if you haven’t read guy gavriel kay then omg you are so lucky and are going to have a fantastic time. i started with the fionavar tapestry but tigana is the place a lot of people start and i freaking love the lions of al-rassan.
and the uncle’s story by whiti ihimaera since i’m on a kick of books that i’ve been talking about the last couple of days. will also hurt but hurt good. or have you read the great chewing gum rescue and other stories by margaret mahy recently because it is gr9 and like flanders and swann but on a page.
okay and so like no one’s going to be that into romance but i just got myself a book of novellas from nalini singh’s psy-changeling series and it’s just such a great world and the implications of the powers involved are so well thought through and the political plot is like, well, existent for starters and engrossing for second. so yeah, just in case.
