such is the fear of all who stand before the father. the lord is too busy, too tired, too disappointed in his own creation to help it back to its feet. they feel their creator would much rather watch the world BURN than put out another fire, and perhaps this notion is true. there will always lie that question, even in the most hopeful of hearts. even within that of joseph himself.

         no matter the slip of faith, from his congregation or his own brothers, he must always remain strong in his own. and this strength comes with a breath, drawn so deep that his chest all but aches with the pressure. he holds it, savors it ;  it stings his closed eyes until he releases all of it in an elated sigh, those yellow lenses raised toward the sky.

Her: (speaking softly to herself in the empty house) “I am just trying to navigate these Medium-Sized folks safely through their teenage years *chuckle chuckle*… with minimum damage. Shoot.” She giggled again as she walked toward her bedroom door to head downstairs.

Him: “When are you going to respond to what I have said to you? What if the answers to what you have shared with me in your heart regarding your children- OUR children- is wrapped up in your answer to the path I’m beckoning you to?”

*silence* as she tried for 2 seconds to rationalize and dispute-

Him: (interrupting her gently) “…Because <insert her name here>, it does. I am able to see the entire scope of your life and all those attached to you… Your decisions, your obedience to my leading- they affect not only you… they are far reaching- affecting and strongly impacting generations to come… it’s much bigger than you… it’s far deeper than you can truly imagine…”

 If we only truly understood the magnitude of what saying ‘yes’ to God really has the power to do, I think we wouldn’t be so hesitant to do so. Myself included.

Yes, I realize that saying ‘Yes’ to Jesus will cost you something and will require some sort of sacrifice in your life… but it is soooo worth it. Do you realize that the answer to some of your prayers lie on the other side of you looking into the face of our King and giving Him that ‘Yes’?

‘Yes’ to that thing- yep, that one thing that He is asking of you. That one thing that won’t leave you alone. That one impression that will not lift-especially when you are alone with Him in His presence. In your mind, what He may be saying to you and impressing upon you has nothing to do with the prayer request you placed before Him or the promise that He has given to you… Oh, but what if it does?

Please do me a favor: take some time before week’s end to just stop, sit/stand (whichever you’d prefer), and listen… listen to His still, small voice speaking… allow yourself to see what He shows you in those small glimpses- and don’t be so quick to dismiss them… write down what you hear, what you see, what you feel is being impressed upon your heart… and then talk to God about these things. I believe that herein lies the answers to your question for direction, clarity, and the next steps in your life. The starting point of the new blue print for your life and your family’s is awaiting your surrender to Him in that area He has placed His finger on…

Say ‘Yes’.  Listen to the words in the song above...

And I will stand in prayer with you that as you acquiesce to His plans, that His Spirit will flood your hearts and minds with greater clarity, sweet peace that comes from assurance that you are in alignment with Him, and grace to follow as He leads or for some- keep in step with Him while walking beside Him.
