Hard to believe it’s 10 years ago today that Sherman passed away. He was a stray riding the NYC subway solo when our paths crossed in 1995. In hindsight, I think our encounter that day was meant to be. Using my belt as a makeshift leash, I took him off the train and into my home. Where he resided for the next 14 years. And into my heart. Where he now lives forever. Like his Pa, Sherman was fond of big, hard wood, the longer the better 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, he was known for his obsession with fetching heavy duty tree branches. Sticks did not interest him in the least. Sherman was super smart, a bit quirky and oh so affectionate. Both Bruce and I loved him so, to such an extent that a few months after he passed away we put an obituary of sorts in the local newspaper upstate, a picture of which is included in this post 😌 Dearly missed and forever loved indeed. #remembering #dogstagram #instadogs #petstagram #inmemoryof #loveandloss #catskills #catskillmountains #dogsofinstagram #straydog (at Margaretville, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw03Ld4HTZL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16n6nexscaght
