The upper two images are his father and mother (plus him), and the lower two are him and his brothers. They all have names and vague “lore”, but I’ve never spoken of them publics lot despite them existing for months.
Also, I’m ignoring the retcon name, he is still Grant Curly to me. Their surnames are Curly.
Also-Also, the 3rd image is a drawover of a meme originally by gertritude-art!
Yammering under cut!
Originally, I’d only designed Curly’s parents many months ago. I’d headcanon’d him as an only child with a whole lot of expectations because he was the only child. Then it was revealed that he had three damn brothers and that whole idea got thrown out of the water. However, since I designed the parents first, it was easier to come up with derivative facial features and hair/eye colors.
I found of the few people who designed his brothers (that I saw, at least) kept them all blonde, but I personally wanted to get a little more varied, especially since I had personal experience with being born with light hair despite neither parent having it (genes are funny like that). I made Curly the youngest, just because it felt right to me. He felt like either the youngest or second youngest, personally. He’s not the shortest, but not the tallest either.
As for names, I might’ve nabbed them from Zzoupz’ ideas… mostly because no constellations have non-over-the-too names other than those, really. From left to right; Leo “Garett”, Caelum, Percy, Grant. Leo goes by his middle name, Garett, and Grant goes by his surname, Curly. Despite seemingly sticking out, Grant still somewhat matches the naming scheme, albeit with his middle name, Orion. For his parents, I kinda whipped them up on the spot, with Daniel being generic-sounding, and Marilyn being a combo of the names I was deciding between (Marie and Linda). Their names are Daniel Grant Curly and Marilyn Cassiopeia Curly. Marilyn’s is a little over-the-top on purpose, due to her background. In fact, how she was raised influenced her as to why her kids had a naming scheme at all.
