I know it’s probably difficult to believe, but Dhavi was actually my fourth Inquisitor and second Lavellan. Naraka Cadash was my first, Hadley Lavellan (a repurposed OC) was second, and Jeanne Trevelyan was third.

Jeanne was created because I found out there was a scrapped idea where the Inquisitor could become Divine at the end, and I wanted that. So bad. So her whole purpose from the beginning was to become Divine at the end.

She is the youngest of a huge family (with a twin brother, Jayce, written by my lovely fiancé @vakariansmonocle ), who is co-Inquisitor with her. Orlesian on her mother’s side, her maternal grandmother had actually been working on her from a young age to try to get her into the Chantry for influence reasons. She was trained as a warrior with the intent of getting her into the Templars, but she was also educated to become a Revered Mother.

She enters into a relationship with Cullen that’s ultimately… kind of toxic?? Because she does go down the Templar specialization, and although she doesn’t encourage Cullen to continue his lyrium use, she obviously does use it herself, excusing it with the argument that she’s going into it with her eyes “wide open” about the risks.

She does ultimately become Divine, and further entrenches the seat in Orlesian politics by insisting in participating in the Game as Divine, including by wearing a full mask as Divine. She continues subtle lyrium use into her years as Divine, and it is a problem.

I’ve also played with the idea of her and Cassandra romantically, wherein Cassandra deeply disapproves of Jeanne playing the Game as Divine, but loyalty, you know.

I love her. She’s awful.

Okay so, overall themes of this season:

Perseverance even when times are hard (path isn’t always a straight line and nya’s whole thing with giving up too easily)

Brotherhood (kai and lloyd, the main gang)

You need to rely on others (morro insisting he doesn’t need others, morro telling lloyd he’s alone and is nothing without others, lloyd saying at the end how happy he is to have people to rely on, etc etc) (this also ties into the brotherhood theme with how the ninja all rely on each other) (also ronin)

I also really liked the parallels between morro and Kai, morro being what Kai would have been if he continued down that path of jealousy (this was also built up last season when Kai got the staff of elements)

There’s probably other stuff I’m forgetting but oh well, I’m tired-still really love this season tho :)
