Come one do you want old fashioned queerbaiting or not, make up your mind
I want queerbait that people acknowledge is queerbait. critical queerbait. interrogated queerbait. purposeful queerbait. queerbait that acknowledges random fanartist with 30 notes is 10x more important to the ship than any writer/animator.
Do make a happy ending for Mav and reader, please 🥺🙏
I completely agree, he doesn't deserve her but at the same time I can't imagine them not getting together after all that emotional upheaval. He needs a huge redemption arc for what he put her through, he needs to go to hell and back barefoot twice before he deserves her, but they need a happy ending 😭😍
I think he needs to personally feel on his skin her doing the same shit he did to her. Realizing how much he loves her and how worthless his behavior is, knowing he doesn't deserve her but also how he can't live without her - he's so in love he would rather crash. Not caring what others think, putting everything on the line, including his career, to be with her, because when faced with losing her or everything else, his love for her has no comparison. Giving her the love, respect and priority she deserves. And showing his love for her in front of everyone, not treating her like a dirty secret, but like the woman he's hopelessly in love with. Not because he needs to do this just to not lose her, but because he loves her and holds her in that regard and respect, without hesitation. The energy is like: he's in love and wants to be in love, you know? He can't imagine not loving her, it was the best shit that ever happened to him. Hopelessly devoted to her.
I think it would be interesting to see how he would change after finally being in love, like he would finally prefer and imagine a life outside of flying. Instead, being a married, retired man, going on adventures around the world with her rather than with the military. Something he never imagined possible, you know? I'm not saying that the fic has to go down those paths because after all, she's at the height of her career and he definitely prefers to be by her side, taking care of her, making sure she's okay and helping her to grow to the top, but this is an example of his great change, does that make sense?
This fic has so much desperate passion and love, that seeing this come to life with your incredible writing would be out of this world 🤯, he'd have to do a lot of chasing, but... we all love that, right? 🤤❤
The highlights of this fic for me are definitely those moments where they crave each other so much and they give in to each other for a moment before going back to the rest of the world. The love, the desperation, the passion....my God 🤤❤
I would like to see now, instead of him having these moments trying not to give in to his feelings for her, he now tries to have these moments because he can't lose her and because she is everything he wants and loves most. Same thing, different scenarios and intentions and he's the one who goes after it. Although we could say that he was the one always chasing her, he was just behaving stupidly.
I hope everything is understandable, English is not my mother tongue, sorry for any mistakes ❣
I love all of this so much!! I agree, it would take an awful lot to make up for the way he’s acted. Hopefully his sense of duty and pride and his big head don’t get in the way haha
And omg I’ve totally thought about writing little snippets of them after I post the final chapter because I don’t know if I could let go 😆 Maybe things that happened during this time or even after that didn’t make it into the main story.
friends friends, let’s get one thing completely clear, okay?
the asymmetrical warfare situation doesn’t apply to anyone israel fights against just cause you guys are aNtiZiOniSts 😅
It's Halloween y'all!
A full day where spirits of all kinds can walk freely among the living. A day where magic flows as freely as wine and the dead roam the streets to party down with us 🤟
That being said, when rolling around with spirits, it's important to look after your spiritual safety! Here are some tips to keep safe this All Hallows Eve!
1: Don't forget to ward your home of any evils (a sacred space is a safe place!)
You can do this by yelling (with conviction) at whatever may be kicking around your home, that they are NEVER welcome and need to GTFO. Afterwards, sprinkle salt in every corner of every room you wish to be a 'ghost free zone'.
2: Pinch salt into your shoes for protection 'on the go'
You can do this if you don't have/don't want to wear protective charms, (or don't have them tattooed to your body). This is a great way to ensure you don't get shanked in the chakras. And if you don't like waiting for the salt to melt with your bodyheat, a misting of saltwater will do the trick too!
3: Don't go into the fucking woods
This one is self explanatory, especially if you live in the Appalachians (y'all know what I'm talking about 👀). This also applies to cemeteries, abandoned buildings, and places that look/feel a little too spooky. Tonight the shadows bite.
4: Don't say 'thank you' to ANYONE
I know. I know. Rude right? But I'll be fucked if I sell my soul to the Fae for a fun-sized KitKat. Best not to risk it, there are other ways to express gratitude. "I appreciate it" Or a simple "happy Halloween" will do.
5: How to interact with spirits
Remember they are people. Be polite, be respectful, and reveal ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about yourself. (Some spirits feed on information, while others can use it to attach themselves to someone/something) Offer them a treat, smoke, drink, gift, trinket, whatever. Or face the consequences. If they offer a gift in return, take it. DO NOT accept a gift if you haven't offered one first (that is a trap). And ALWAYS. SAY. GOODBYE. Weather the entity you're interacting with is physical or not, you must ALWAYS *clearly* say goodbye.
And for the love of all that is good, DON'T SUMMON ANYTHING!
6: Cleanse yourself of negative energy when you get home
This process is completely up to you and what aligns with your beliefs.
Personally, I like to take a quiet moment to thank my ancestors and those who watch over me, give them a plate of goodies, then sit and have a drink for them.
All in all, respect the spirits and have a great time!
Stay safe out there!
Seeing Carlos look so at home at the 126 fire station makes me think that he never had this type of camaraderie before he met TK and the 126 firefam. From what we have seen on screen, Carlos is the consummate professional whenever he is in uniform, so to see him walk into the fire station which such familiarity speaks volumes about how he was able to be more of himself whenever TK is around. Would love to know your take on how Carlos is like in his workplace, since they never show him interacting with his colleagues at the police station (except with Detective Washington, but that is a more of a mentor-like professional relationship).
AHHH!!! NONNY I FOUND YOU AND YOUR QUESTION WAS DIFFERENT!
It wasn't eaten.
Also your question was way different than I'd interpreted it in a separate post so I'm so glad.
Carlos in his workplace probably has a few friends that he'll chat with, but I have a feeling he's a consumate professional.
We haven't seen the inside of Carlos's APD station very often. We've seen it four times: once with TK, twice with Detective Washington, and one episdoe with Carlos and his Dad. In with Detective Washington, though, when he's bringing in Michelle (his personal life) into his professional space, there's a very clear "don't embarras me" message. And yes, Detective Washington is his superior in some ways, but he's also very much holding a line here.
However, we DO see him interacting with other officers out and about. One of my favorite moments is in Saving Grace when Carlos and TK are unpacking food for the 126 and Judd. He's recognized by the other officers and straightens up almost immediately and his voice shifts as the on duty officers casually talk (horrifically) about being there to see a drunk driver who ran a couple off of a bridge last night. We could excuse the tension as a result of what they said, considering Judd and Grace ARE the couple that was run off the bridge. But it happens before that comes out.
We also see Carlos in the field as a consumate professional. Like, he flirts with TK all of once, and it's just him and the 126 in earshot in that shot in 2x01. Otherwise, they barely speak on calls, with their sweet head nods and those fraught looks in 3x11 (still murders me). And when he's out with others, there tends to be a very professional line he takes. Even in 3x05 when he sees Owen, there's the surprise and the "Captain Strand" and when Washington asks him about knowing the man, there's a little grimace as he owns that Owen is his father-in-law. He struggles, sometimes with that mixing of the personal and the professional. In 3x05, he doesn't relax with Detective Washington until after they finish the case and give Katie to her parents and Detective Washington calls him a pushy bastard suggests he'd make a great detective.
We even watch it happen in his house, in 3x11, when Grace makes it clear she's not there for a friendly visit, Carlos's demenor shifts immediately. Is some of that what happened on the SWATting call (probably) but also it's bringing a case into his house and the smile drops. Similiarly when he's focused on reviewing footage in the house in 3x05 and 3x12, he's very focused and methodical.
I also think the way he shows up to his job has a lot to do with his father. We know from Bad Call that Carlos feels like he has a lot to prove about his ability on the job. His captain and his dad have been friends for years is another detail we get from Carlos in Bad Call. He also alerts us that his dad thinks he's not cut out to be a cop, that he's maybe too soft, cares too much.
If you know your boss is a good friend of your dad's and you think your dad thinks you shouldn't be doing your job...well...you'll show up 200% percent every day. And yes, he's probably cordial and friendly and lovely at work, but I don't think he relaxes in the precinct.
Like, we've seen two very different turns in the 126 firehouse in season 3 with 3x07 vs 3x11. 3x07 he's "on shift" and he's there to share information to try and keep his personal life and his professional life from crashing in a terrible fashion. If you watch 3x07 vs 3x11, the greetings for TK are entirely different. In 3x07, TK's all soft and "Hi babe, you want next?" and Carlos's direct response is "No, I'm on shift." There's no physical contact, no softness there. He's there to try and stop an unstoppable force from hitting an immovable object (rafa for superman 2024). 3x11, Carlos is on a lunch break and he's joining his family for lunch. His entire demeanor is different, giving TK chest rubs and engaging in banter, and even if he's a little eyebrow raise with Mateo hugging him, it's not unwelcome. He sits down and doesn't blink as TK scratches his back as he leaves, clearly happy to continue his planned lunch break with the rest of their little fire family.
So, I think inside the precinct walls, that's ON SHIFT. You get 1000% professional Carlos. I really hope he has a few collegues he considers friends that he goes out with after work or for a lunch break where you would see the shift in his demeanor with them.
But also, I'm going to acknowledge that Carlos is an out queer Tejano cop, and that's going to requrie a lot of trust with people to let his guard down period. Owen built the 126 as part of a fedral diversity and inclusion mission and built it a certain way that is probably more comfortable than your average firehouse or precinct.
