So I was just thinking.....

And now I'm imagining this: it's 9:30 Dragon. The Blight has started. Alistair is one of two Gret Wardens left in Fereldan. He and the other Grey Warden (future HoF) and their companions are running around fighting off darkspawn, adopting nugs, dealing with the politics involving Alistair's royal blood, etc etc.
When they get to Honnleath, they find that it hasn't been completely deserted yet. There's a few stragglers who've managed to survive thus far. That's where Alistair meets Cullen Rutherford, someone who dreamed of being a Templar but never got the chance (his parents wouldn't let him go). Instead, until the attack, he carried out his duty as the oldest son and took over farming.
The attraction is there right off the bat, and while Alistair is proud (and scared shitless like any reasonable person) to be fulfilling his duty to the Wardens...now he's also fighting for a man with amber eyes, gentle hands, and a warm smile.
