Something that happened to me today: I had to butt into a conversation between teen girls on insta like a nosey mom. One girl (who left our barn on bad terms) was telling another girl (who is currently riding at our barn) that she should tie her stirrup to the girth with bailing twine to prevent her leg from swinging back when she jumps. It was such bad advice that I felt like I had to intervene because kids are dumb and impressionable and will do just about anything their peers tell them to...
I have definitely down the bailing twine thing, though not so much for swinging back as for helping to prevent my foot from turning out 90 degrees from the horse. It was only a few lessons, and from there muscle memory took over, but yeah…. good on you for jumping in there.

57: go listen to bohemian rhapsody. how did it make you feel? did you dramatically reenact the lyrics?: I obviously ALWAYS dramatically reenact the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody in the most embarrassing way possible. That goes without me having to listen to it. But listening to it, it just pumps me up and semi-puts me in a good mood! 58: who’s the wine mom and who’s the vodka aunt in your group of friends? why?: Jenn is the wine mom. Because she’s just a mom-type-friend to everyone. I’m also a mom-friend, but I’m DEFINITELY the drunk vodka aunt in my friend group. This goes without question honestly, it’s just a fact. 59: what’s your favorite myth?: The indigenous stories from the PNW are definitely my favorite creation stories/beliefs. I wouldn’t call that myths, though. But those are my favorites. They’re always incredible. 60: do you like poetry? what are some of your faves?: I absolutely love poetry. I spend a lot of time watching slam poetry on Button Poetry on YouTube, and then I also have a Pinterest board called Letters To An Insomniac with a bunch of my favorite poems on there! Poetry is literally one of my favorite things ever, to be honest! These were fantastic!! Thanks girl!! <3
Do you prefer photographing hunters, eq, or jumpers and why?
I like photographing each discipline and focusing on different things. In hunters I try to capture the grace and elegance. In equitation I try to capture the teamwork between a horse and rider, and in jumpers I try to capture the power of the horse. Jumpers are my favorite :)
