Email Sent Three Days Ago - All Correspondence Hidden From Sir

[To: James "Bucky" Barnes, Natasha Romanoff, Phillip J Coulson, Bruce Banner, Pepper Potts, Clint Barton, Thor Odinson, Darcy Lewis] I am writing to inform all of you of the engagement of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. Not only are they due to be wed but they are also intending to due so in a private ceremony at City Hall in three days' time, however I felt you all should be made aware of the situation. It is entirely up to each of you what you intend to do with this information, my only request being that you refrain from informing either party that you are aware of this, nor more importantly that you received this information from me. Maybe, baby

(Drabble request from Bucky god the angst today. Trigger warnings, miscarriages/and or losing a child because of an injury otherwise it's just all emotions.)

The moment she got the notice the OP went south she sought out Bucky. They had said Nat had been injured, but was alive. The other part, well she wasn't sure if Bucky knew yet, but he would know now. Using her cell phone while she ran to his quarters, she set up transport for the both of them to go to Nat.

She knocked on the door of Bucky and Nat's quarters. "Bucky? Are you here? It's important." she said through the door. "We need to talk, it's Nat." 

The door swung open, Bucky standing in front of her. "Nat? What's going on?"

"I got news about the op. Can I come in so we can talk?"

"Oh uh, sure." Bucky directed her inside. She took the desk chair out and sat in it while Bucky sat on the bed.

Opening the file, she started reading the details off to him. It was a standard op, they were trying to infiltrate Latveria to get a scoop on what Dr. Doom was doing. They had been found out sometime yesterday and it got ugly. Nat had been shot in the stomach. He relaxed once he saw the pictures of her sleeping in the hospital in Germany. She made sure Bucky knew Nat was going to be ok before she told him the next part. 

"There's something else. I'm not sure if you or Nat knew this, because it was so early in the ah, process." She paused, trying to find the words to tell him. "So ah yea, it turns out Nat was about 2 months pregnant. But, because of her injury, the baby unfortunately did not survive."

The look on Bucky's face was indescribable. So much pain and torture. Darcy leapt up and put her arms around him. He buried his face in her chest and started crying.  "Shhhh it's ok." She started rocking back and forth, her grip on him growing tighter. "It's ok, it's going to be ok. Nat survived. We're gonna get her home from the hospital. It's going to be ok."

Bucky mumbled into her chest. "Мы не планировали иметь детей, но и богом. Если бы я потерял их, как я не знаю, что мне придется сделать. У нее был наш ребенок в нас, наших детей. О, Боже наш ребенок умер. О боже о боже." She continued to hold him, let him cry.

They stayed like that for a half an hour, until Bucky finally gained his composure. "Darcy, thank you for telling me. I ah..god I.." He trailed off.

"Shh. I've got a transport set up to fly you and I out to Germany to be with her. It's going to be ok, I promise."

"Thank you."

They landed in Germany 12 hours later. They got into a SHIELD provided SUV and went straight to the hospital. Darcy let Bucky go in first and closing the door behind him, giving them the privacy they deserved and preventing anyone from entering. The last thing she heard was Nat saying how she was so sorry she lost the baby, that it was her fault and that they should try again and Bucky quieted her with a "Maybe, baby."
