Harsher restrictions were put on Sun and Moon in the crazy twins au after they got uninfected.
After the daycare closed, Sun would be taken out of the daycare and questioned about basically anything the guards wrote down as “unusual” behavior. And they were picky. So many things could be seen as unusual, even emotional responses that logically are considered natural. Sun was fidgeting too much one day and that made the guards suspicious, but obviously he would fidget more. He got nervous easily, he has anxiety for gods sake, and suddenly he was being watched by several adults at all times and that’s really uncomfortable. Being forced to admit things like that which were highly personal while also being treated like a criminal every single day with the questioning hurt. He constantly got forced into admitting extremely personal things just so he didn’t get punished, emotions that most of the time the employees didn’t take seriously and were quickly disregarded. And whenever he was punished, he was always left in the quiet room for an hour at least, and his suit was shut down to prevent him from moving and potentially hurting himself out of fear. So they knew that what they were doing, locking him in a dark room, scared him, but instead of not doing that anymore they just shut off his limbs so he wouldn’t hurt himself in his blind terror.
One of the times Moon was in p&s for a virus check, a new program was downloaded to his suit. Good news! Now he doesn’t need to go down to parts and services all the time! Bad news? They have a remote way to hurt him and can now do it all the time. Which they do. As long as it isn’t strong enough to cause him to drop the kids, they can use it whenever they want and it has more shock variations instead of just being 1-10 level, like administering a command to force lock up the suit which is essentially how it would feel if all your muscles cramped up at once. Again, as long as it doesn’t make it harder to do his job, they’ll do it to him. He is insanely cautious about what he does, because he knows they can spike the pain at any time and he’ll only get in more trouble if he worries the kids by showing that he’s in a lot of pain. It’s easy to stimulate the pain sensors without damaging Moon, sooo they essentially did that; The remote administered feelings that cause all his pain sensors to be activated at once, and it can be kept on for a long time unlike electricity because it doesn’t do any damage. Sun can always tell when it’s on because Moon always has that strained neutral expression with the underlying “when the children leave I’m going to scream into a pillow” feeling.
