I'm going to be a massive hater of the new GitS anime, I can feel it. So far they have only shown production material and I sense that it's going to be one of those adaptations that copy the manga, panel by panel, which is my least favourite type of approach. And the truth is that SAC has spoiled me to such degree that I crave a Kamiyama script. I miss this type of political shenanigans storytelling. People were so offput by the CGI in SAC_2045 that they slept on it. Meanwhile it probably provided me with the most engagement I had with a modern anime in years. Especially the Sustainable War part. Regardless of what people might feel about his plots, Kamiyama might be the only guy that is still doing this sort of thing in anime nowadays (what else do we have? Maybe Hathaway? Sunrise people need to step up honestly). The directors/writers in the industry that were in this level of locked in are getting really old. This might be a good chance to revisit the GitS manga tbh. It was maybe the second manga I ever read and my English comprehension was not the best. I was struggling. I stopped on Man-Machine Interface cause...yeah it had even more technobabble yapping that was making it difficult for me...
trying to build my Olga Gurlukovich playlist and yeah this goes first
A case where I did not experience things in the right order was watching SAC_2045 before being aware of what mgs entails. Like hello? Sustainable War? What the hell Kamiyama? Probably one of the most unofficial mgs media out there.
MGS watch order: mg1, votoms, mg2, mgs1, mgs2, SAC, apocalypse now, mgs3, mgs4, SAC_2045, mgr
